Getting the call: Adriaan Strauss

Midweek captain Chiliboy Ralepelle and prop Gurthrö Steenkamp will return to South Africa after being injured against Leicester.

The Springboks' suffered defeated opening tour match at Welford Road on Friday, with Ralepelle hurting a foot and has to see a specialist while Steenkamp injured his knee.

Tighthead Jannie du Plessis is doubtful at this stage with an injured hand.

Free State Cheetahs prop Wian du Preez and hooker Adriaan Strauss have been called as replacements and are set to join the squad shortly.

For me it was not really the 'Bok' (yeah right) front row that was the real concern--we all knew they were token selections. The real concern was with Roussouw and Bekker. Matfield will be 34 by the next World Cup and Bakkies Botha will be 32. Bekker especially continues to disappoint--he does nothing other than at lineout time except hover away from the action hoping for a cheap thrill --the SA team got thrashed at the breakdown (even if a lot of the turnovers were illegal you must expect that with Mr Dickenson and they still got out-rucked) and Bekker was no help at all. Perhaps David de Villiers would be a better option. It is noticeable that when Botha leaves the field the Bok pack loses intensity. It will be necessary to have at least one reliable backup lock in 2011-- and find him sooner rather than later.

Once again, injuries come to the rescue of Pieter de Villiers

Where's WP Nel? Don't worry, he'll be there by the end of the tour, maybe sooner.

I thought PDV said he learns from his mistakes? This is the same scenario that we had with Steyn and Brussouw although that was not affirmative linked.

The public where proved right in that incident and will be proved right in this one!

It really is incredible that the Boks are No 1 in spite of officials and politicians attempts to derail them

How much better they could become if selections where made with a level of intelligence and merit based, unfortunately that perfect situation and SA rugby will never go hand in hand

Wow, can you believe that? The guys who should have been there in the first place (mind you - what must Derick Kuun do to get in?)!

Even more astounding: TWO non-affirmative, non-quota replacements!

Will wonders never cease...
