Newcomer Davon Raubenheimer has been promoted to South Africa's starting line-up for their tour opener against Leicester at Welford Road.
Raubenheimer takes the place of flank Heinrich Brüssow, who has been withdrawn after the news that number eight Pierre Spies had to pull out of the tour squad after having surgery to his finger.
Raubenheimer will, however, wear the number seven jersey with in-form Blue Bulls man Dewald Potgieter switching to six for Friday.
Brüssow will now join the group of fifteen players that will travel to France next Tuesday.
Jean Deysel has been called up to replace Spies and has been included on the bench for Friday's clash against the Tigers.
"Losing Pierre is a blow for us and a disappointment for him but we are fortunate to have strong back-up players in the squad who are familiar with how we want to play," said Bok coach Peter de Villiers.
"I am also confident that the change will not disrupt our preparations for the important tour opener on Friday."
