The Cheetahs they have signed Southern Kings and SA U20 wing Sergeal Petersen for next year's Super Rugby tournament.
According to a report on the Supersport website, Petersen will stay with the Kings for the Currie Cup in 2014 and 2015, but he has signed a Super Rugby deal with the Cheetahs.
This will give Cheetahs boss Naka Drotske a lot more options alongside his two Springboks, Willie le Roux and Cornal Hendricks, in the back-line.
The Cheetahs have also acquired the services of Pumas and Lions full-back Coenie van Wyk for next season after he impressed in his debut season with the Lions.
Van Wyk who joined the Lions as a loan player, along with scrum-half Faf de Klerk, will finish the year at the Pumas before moving to the Cheetahs for the 2015 season.
The Bloemfontein-based franchise also signed Lions fly-half Willie du Plessis, who will provide cover for Elgar Watts next year. Du Plessis moved to the Lions from the Blue Bulls but has had little game-time at the Lions.
The Cheetahs are also negotiating to bring former Bulls and Lions prop Bees Roux to Bloemfontein.
Roux is keen to end his stint with the Lions and his contract with the Cheetahs is expected to be finalised within days.
