The Kings have been dealt an injury blow on the eve of their Super Rugby clash with the Bulls in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Teenage wing sensation Sergeal Petersen has been forced to withdraw from the team following a groin strain sustained during practice on Thursday.

Marcello Sampson has been promoted from the bench while Vodacom Cup player Scott van Breda has been called into the matchday 22 and could make his Super Rugby debut.

"Van Breda provides cover at a number of positions and had been playing exceptionally well at Vodacom Cup level," said Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.
