Cardiff Blues ran in four second-half tries to record a thumping 38-0 home victory over Aironi in the RaboDirect Pro12.
The Blues led 12-0 at half-time thanks to the boot of Dan Parks before tries from Casey Laulala, Dafydd Hewitt, Tom James and Marc Breeze moved them up to third in the RaboDirect Pro12 table.
These sides had met earlier in the season when the Blues overcame the Italians 37-26, and the hosts were expected to repeat that bonus-point victory.
But it was the boot of Parks that dominated the proceedings in the first period.
Although both sides tried to play with width and tempo, mistakes and ill-discipline from Aironi allowed Cardiff to gain control. However, they were also the more effective and Parks opened his account with a penalty in the third minute.
Despite regularly threatening to break the visitors' gainline, the Blues rarely troubled the opposition 22 and they had to rely on their fly-half extending their advantage with another three-pointer.
Aironi's scrum was dominant in the first period, winning three penalties, but it was ironically from a similar set-piece infringement that Parks slotted his third penalty.
A fourth soon followed as the hosts led 12-0 at the break. Sinoti Sinoti was sin-binned for a shoulder charge two minutes into the second half and Cardiff took advantage as Laulala went over for the opening try of the match.
Hewitt and James then touched down in quick succession before Breeze powered over to confirm the bonus point.
