I wait with great anticipation for a similarly balanced PR write-up on Marc Lievremont's book, due out in 2016, looking back on his "emotions" during RWC2011. As well as being a coach, telling a story of an emotional reaction to a particularly stressful day, he's also a losing RWC finalist as a player in 1999.

Let him tell - he's definitely earned the right!!

(but in the eyes of the anglo-saxon press, methinks he will sadly never be more than a caricature)

Richard Anderson, the Stormers were beaten by a team with better talent and a better game plan, period. To label JdV and the Stormers team as negative is somewhat of a simplification. To be negative is to kill as ball at ruck time so there is no flow, by "you-know-who". Negative is to concede penalty after penalty (ala Jannie du Plessis on Saturday). To have a conservative game plan does not equal "negative". I cannot comment on the incident in the 52nd minute for I do not remember the game for that incident (whatever it was) but for some good footy being played by the Sharks and a very good comeback by the Stormers at the death. Nothing negative there. Enjoy your two days of summer. Cheers

So when Saint Graham cries match fixing we get a treatise from Planet Rugby on what a wonderful person he is and how he was just frustrated and misunderstood. When South Africans say Bryce Lawrence and Paddy O'Brien rigged the 2011 World Cup we are roundly criticized and lampooned by the same site.

Classic Anderson. Very fair when talking about issues Kiwi, then can't resist being as bitchy as possible when mentioning anything South African.

This is a good article. I know some of the Stormers fans will no doubt take umbrage but it is true and accurate. It doesn't mean they are a bad team or don't have players that are superb. They have just had a terrible game plan which hasn't endeared itself to the rugby playing public. Good stuff on Graham Henry as this puts things more in perspective. Some comments on this are just plain ridiculous and have got out of hand. I also agree with the Lions issue and the prep time for the Aussies. Still, I bet they still give the Lions a contest even if they got together the day before. I'm from England and can say that the SH teams are a way ahead (again) at the moment.

"It's just a coach being a coach, telling a story of an emotional reaction to a particularly stressful day." Or it could just be GH's publisher creating a media-storm just before the release of his book, by "leaking" the only interesting bit in it.

And all teams have suffered at the hands of "interesting" scheduling. Anyone else remember the RWC lat year..? This is just Dingo getting his excuses in early.

@Richard Anderson, great balance on Henry's state of mind. Thanks for the insight.

The stormers losing was the best possible thing that could have happened for the springboks.

I'd also be interested in Henry's view on how many penalties he thinks could have been awarded to France in the second half of the 2011 RWC final. Doesn't he realize that everyone's been screwed over in important matches at every level but it all balances out in the end?

Typical Kiwi's. Match fixing; Suzy; forward passes. You lost, simples.

If anything, this tournament was fixed. Wales and SA both would have had the beating of this the ABs in the RWC if it weren't for poor officiating.

Isn't that claim getting remarkably close to libel? I would imagine that the officials would have a reasonable case that their reputations could be adversely affected by such a claim.

Excellent article on Graham Henry.

You're obviously not a Kiwi so thank you for your fair-mindedness on the Henry issue, it's not easy to accomplish.

Not something that can be said for many other Rugby journalists on this particular issue.
