Shocking display from Ireland yet we could have won, we have the worst captain and manager combo ever BOD is trying hard at 13 Darcy is and has been rubbish for years now so is heslip, Sean O Brien take a bow u were super, Murray isn't a patch on Marshall, I know Heslip is rubbish, I know Darcy is rubbish and yet Kidney is picking them, Cave can make a break Darcy had a 20 yard gap in our 22 in the last 5 mins and he threw a wayward pass behind Kearney and we conceded a pen from the next play, wayward pass to ROG and conceded a pen in the next play, Heslip is the worst number 8 in the 6 Nations FACT, Sack Kidney, I hope $exton recovers quickly as ROg isn't even Munsters best 10 at the minute, why are we kicking the ball when we never have a chaser under it?

Worst manager ever, and to all you clowns who say we beat Wales and Argentina Wales didn't turn up 1st half and we played well but they destroyed us for 60% of the game with us lacking any imagination, Argentina were out on their feet after the rugby champ and touring vs Wales and France and NZ were similar vs England however England played very well in fairness, since 2010 Ireland have less than 35% success vs tier 1 nations while 3 Provinces have dominated European Rugby, We didn't play v well vs South Africa 1st half they were awful gifting us pen after pen and we only managed 12 points during this period, Kidney is overseeing the runation of the Irish team!!!!!!!!!!!

O'Gara if you have any dignity you will just retire now. It's getting embarassing.

Lancaster must be credited with putting together a side that have the disclipline and maturity to win away matches in hostile conditions. There are excellent signs that England have a squad who can win ugly when required, but have sufficient flair to put other NH teams to the sword.

Next step, getting up to SH standards, but we are well on our way.

Wow what a intense match! Congrats England you were simply the better team on the day. Conditions didn't help today but both sides played them guts out. on a side note congrats to BOD on the birth of his baby girl this morning, and he still turns out for his national side, gotta respect his commitment and his wife's tolerance.

Looking again at Healey's stamp, it's a serious offence and he is sure to face a ban for it. Arguably he could have been red carded and should at least have been sin binned. But I still think he's a great player. We all have players who have lost their cool in high pressure games. I only need to think of Dylan Hartley's biting and gouging.

Anyway, Ireland may well have to replace Healey for the remainder of the tournament.

Heaslip was awful. I've not really rated him the last 2 years but that is the worst I've seem him play. Well done England - the better team on the day and worth the win

No complaints from the irish, we were well beaten on the day, perhaps lucky to have been so close.

Well played England, poor game over-all, shame about the weather, HJeaslip is not captain material, should have a chat with Robshaw for a few hinters. Healy won't be playing until at least Easter, a Thuggish act.

See the 6 nations has dropped to its usual standard after last weeks quality. I still think that there will be no grand slam this year

This was never going to be a festival of open running rugby and always a war of attrition. England played the clever rugby and scored the points that mattered.

Cian Healy... Expect a ban.

It has to be said; England were very lucky, Ireland were dominant in every aspect.

If Sexton had stayed on, they would have kicked less and I think they would have won the game.

If the weather conditions were perfect, I think Ireland could have put 20+ points on them also...

Certainly a Write-off for the 'Lions index', although Best and Goode had good games.

Well done England. Hard earned and deserved win.

Ireland lost the game with too many silly mistakes. Oh what could have been...

compare and contrast Ireland v England, France v Wales.

Absolutely brutal game of rugby with all points earned rather than just "happening". Ireland perhaps too impatient - tried to do the usual whirlwhind start but, when England were equal to it started trying too hard. Took their foot off the gas when Haskell was off (too patient??).

England looking scarily clinical at the moment.

Poor game. Not sure if Ireland had a poor game plan or just played badly. Hard to believe that Healy wasn't sent off - disgusting stamp and I trust he will have a very lengthy ban. There is no justification for stamping in that manner and there could easily have been a serious injury. I couldn't believe Keith Wood's idiotic comments (I think the bloke is great normally), but to suggest that it was only a yellow card offence was very sad indeed!

SUFTUM says...

Ireland were awful, no leadership or quality once Sexton went off, and especially once BOD had taken a knock. Why he took off Best and Healy with five to go we'll never know, O'Gara is so far past it now, why is he on the bench instead of Madigan or Jackson? Lets hope Jonny is all right, but it doesn't look it, and I fear we'll have ROG for the rest of the championship, even though he can't even kick well now. Heaslip was awful, O'Mahony was anonymous second half, there was no depth or invention in the backs, we relied on O'Gara's waning boot for field position, I hope that this result means we can finally be rid of Deccie, Connor O'Shea would be great thanks!

What a glorious vindication of the fact that this England team ARE the best team in Europe at the moment. Still got to prove it over the next few weeks, but there's no arguing with that statement this evening.

How much have Lions selections changed from a year ago?

1. Corbisiero/ Marler/ Vunipola/ Paul James (anyone but Healy)

2. Best

3. Cole

4. Launchbury

5. Parling

6. Brown

7. Robshaw

8. Morgan

9. Youngs

10. Farrell

11. North

12. O'Driscoll (c)

13. Tuilagi

14. Halfpenny

15. Kearney

looks like a very strong side on paper.

A poor refereeing display IMHO made this a more drab affair than it should have been. Since when is a knock on the the same as a dropped ball? It has to go forward. Ireland got away with murder at the breakdown, especially in the second half.

I was interested to know if Kearney should have been penalised for intentionally putting his hand in touch after being tackled 5m out - the same a throwing the ball out or the same as running the ball into touch, the tackle had been made

Healy will be cited, but we shouldn't pretend to be holier than though about foul play. 99% of people who have played have dished out some shoe pie!

Cian Healy should be cited for stampingand have the book thrown at him. 8-week ban at a minimum
