Ireland wait on their wounded

BOD: Several stitches inserted into a head wound

Ireland will delay naming their line-up for Sunday's Six Nations clash with England to give their injured players as much time to recover as possible.

The Irish claimed a fabulous 30-22 victory over Wales at the Millennium Stadium and although nobody has been ruled out of the Dublin clash, many are under surveillance.

Number eight Jamie Heaslip has a cut leg and centre Gordon D'Arcy a dead leg, but the Leinster duo should be able to train this week.

Centre Brian O'Driscoll had several stitches inserted into a head wound but will participate in practice, as will prop Mike Ross, who suffered severe cramp.

A precautionary scan revealed no damage to full-back Rob Kearney's back, but substitute centre Keith Earls will see a specialist later this week to assess a shoulder problem.

Ireland host England in a match that could decide the winners of the 2013 Six Nations following France's shock 23-18 defeat by Italy in Rome.

3in4 - McFadden? Are you for real? He may be a slightly better defender than Earls but he's too lightweight against this kind of opposition. Was it the Wales game last year that he ended up as roadkill under one of the Welsh backs?

Agreed. If you want a reliable center replacement with great defence, then McFadden is your man. Earls is nowhere near international class. He's always tackled like a paper bag but you can be sure he'll be in the 23 come Sunday because he's Kidney's ginger love-child.

Can we just send Earls home anyway? Terrible defender and I don't see him being able to stop anyone like Twelvetrees, Barrit or (gulp) Tuilagi. I think we need to bring up someone from the Wolfhounds or maybe Downey. There needs to be a dependable center back-up for D'Arcy and O'Driscoll.

Looking at the IRFU website the only real issue is Earls, which at the end of the day isnt really an issue at all as I would prefer anyone in there to him as he is a weak link in defence at this level

So it should be the same side that beat the welsh with maybe a change on the bench which would either be Trimble or Fitzgerald dont mind which one but there is no way that Downey should ever be near the side, Sorry Armchairgeneral but hes a cart horse that offers nothing and has been a constant joke since hes played for Munster, he was at his prime at the Saints but thats a distant memory now

The big question is does Lancaster pick Manu or Billy 36, it would be a bit harsh to drop Billy after a try scoring debut but Tuilagi offers something else, i think he'll start with Billy and bring Manu on as an impact sub, interesting choices but i still see a home win by 7

Just hope Darcy is fit, as much as we held out when he went off the defense is much stronger when hes there, Earls is not capable of defending against top international players especially when theyre the size of the welsh backline, OK england are not that big but theyre big enough and we cant afford any weak links in Dublin this week.

Glad the welsh came back at us in the 2nd half and tested our defense which is what we needed with england coming up, had the welsh totally folded it wouldnt have been good preparation for this weekend

Still see an Irish win by 7 as Scotland offered nothing in Twickers but still were able to score 2 tries and Ive seen under 16s who could tackle better than the scots

BOD has stitches from Davies. What will Manu, Bastaureud, Lamont give him. The guy is a legend and a hero, but he needs bigger players around him. He can't be putting in those hits each week. I don't think they can win the 6 nations without a big defensive back somewhere near BOD. Downey should have been in from the start.

Whilst I wish them all a full recovery would be most please if that recovery took a little over a week!
