Darcys scoring record for clud and country for the past 3 years is by far the worst, even Italian 12's are getting over the whitewash a lot more than him - international records Keith Wood scored more trys in less games and he played long before any whipping boys were in the 6 nations and also in a far more limited Ireland team!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darcy is in my opinion the worst 12 in international rugby!!!!!! His intercepted pass by Paul Emerick in the RWC vs USA puts Emerick in as a better player in my eyes especially as his missed tackle on Phillips was the nail in the coffin in the qtr final!!!!

Sack Kidney please!!!!

Well done on the research...Thanks Bro.

Agree with you Rukrym...there's few 12's in the Home Nations better than D'arcy, even Roberts from Wales doesn't play the position on all cylinders at times, it's a very difficult position to play and sometimes it appears that a 12 is having a bad game when in fact he's playing a stormer because they are in such a pivotal position they are insuring that possession is not squandered or crucial covering and tackling is maintained

So Ger Earls couldn't have been offered a pro contract cause he's in his mid forties now?! Mick Galwey and Peter Clohessy are 46 so I guess the same applies to them?!

Google "ger earls munster" and read the independent article "the might of the earls" I'm not sayin I agree with the work mate cause I think Earls' has been playing well at centre recently but it seems he had a point so relax people that are giving GCP stick!!

Anyone know what Kidney did to Darcy's dad?!....

@rukrym...ronanmeagher and Cookie My Man,

It was meant as a throw away remark made by a work-mate ,apologies if I forgot to but a smiley face after it.just to drive the point home.

I don't have a lot of time for Declan Kidney but I don't think the man would stick with Earlsy just because of a slight on his Auld Man's character.

Jaysus lads its a rugby web-site relax will Yis,

U are an idiot, Murray has been average at best for a couple of years - he looks to me like ap layer who didn't play top level rugby much at all, Marshall is 100% better player but isn't as big wowwwwwwww and scrum halves need to be big? No they don't Dekkie is a hopeless manager sitting in his ivory tower not noticing Darcy hasn't been more than below average for 3 years and never trying out other players!!!!!!

Gilroy had played for Ireland before scoring 2 tries vs the baabaa's and dekkie never mentioned picking form payers after that performance. Darcy has 1 try every 10 matches and in the last 3 years 1 try in about 25 and he is still first choice.

I recall the shock that Wales back line were big strong men last year and how have Ireland progressed ??? We have two hobbits at 12 and 13 one a weaker tackler than the other and neither with the ability to make a gap or break a tackle, Earls keeps drifting wide and when there in fairness can use his pace but 13???? A joke Ireland should be getting 7 points for this game not the fav's!!!!!!!!

ROG 10 $exy 12 and Cave 13 is far better than 2 midgets waiting to be swatted !!!!!!!!!!! Also if Obrien can start for Leinster tomorrow he should be starting for Ireland at 8 instead of that shaper of a clown Heaslip!!!!!!1

Rest of the pack are best players in their positions in fairness, lets hope the back 3 get some ball to do damage!!!!!

Come on Ireland - Sack the manager!!!!!!!!

Kidney thinks he is playing safe by bring back the old guns :

Darcy - past it for years,

Earls - has any one seen him pass or odd load a ball, he certainly can't break a tackle,

Bowe - not playing to a good enough standard,

The backs named last week scored seven tries. Only one of them plays plus Murray. Cave and Marshall are on form, so pick them. The exciting and fresh Gilroy will see precious little of the ball with the centres that Kidney has picked.

Tuohy and Henderson did brilliantly last week, where are they?

Lets hope we can manage some sort of result.

Retarded? Wind your neck in vinnie or get a sense of humour

Yep he made a couple of errors, novices will do. What's Conor 'is he gonna kick? Of course he is!' Murray's excuse after a couple of years. So I will repeat a sound opinion of mine, Marshall offers more than the other 2, he needs experience at test level.

@GCP_Jones

"A colleague in work who's a Munster supporter says that..." - sounds like a credible source of information...

A reoccurring theme on threads about Ireland is the constant calls for D'Arcy to be dropped, but I've yet to hear anyone propose a realistic replacement. The options seem to be Downey (a one dimensional bosch merchant, average at best), Luke Marshall (possibly one for the future but not at the required level yet) and McFadden (who I see as the long term replacement but still hasn't overtaken D'Arcy at Leinster). I also rarely hear any real justification for these incessant calls.

Now, with half our starting team out injured, there are still people calling for him to be dropped. We need as much experience as we can muster right now! There are serious questions marks over Earls at 13, he needs D'Arcy's experience inside. Can we give it a rest please?

OH my im just not impressed at all,good that Gilroy is getting a chance ,but as for the rest of the team ,im mostly gob smacked.Its the same one that played so badly against a badly playing bokke team they still lost.Centre pairing rubbish,FB is a wiinger not FB,SH is not international class by a contry mile,and the back row is so unblanced itsa crime.The XV should be 1)Healy 2)Strauss 3)Ross 4)Ryan 5)Tuohy 6)Henderson 7)Henry 8)Heslip (only cuz SOB isnt fit) 9)Marshall 10)Sexton 11)Gilroy 12)Maddigan 13)Bowe 14)Szebo/Trimble 15Jones

Argentina by 10 imo

For the love of Jayzus Deccie...will you at least try to surprise us! You are only giving CG a go to appease the critics, but to continue with yesteyears centre GD, and non centre KE? The Northys proved they are worth their salt man! We know it's a must win, but go all out and ignore your employers conservative approach...

@Cookiemunste well said.

Any self-respecting rugby supporter would know who Ger Earls was and when he played........unless of course they only started following the game in the last 3 - 4 years (post May 2009).....which is the category most people on here seem to fall into

@ Cookiemunste....

Second hand news...I'll pass that onto the Munster supporter who told me the story, you probarly know them.

I betcha he'd get a contract now, you could do with him in your back row.

Despite my misgivings, especially with Murray, Earls and D'Arcy, I can see where Kidney is coming from. It's a must win game. Hopefully (and I mean HOPEFULLY), after we've beaten Argentina and secured our 2nd tier spot, Kidney will start ringing in the changes for the 6 Nations. D'Arcy, O'Callaghan, O'Gara have to be phased out (even POC and BOD but not as fast) and the new boys must get game time. How Murray is still there is a mystery but he will be found out - I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

Come on Ireland !!!

Here comes the Munster brigade to protect the mighty ROG! ROG was a great player, i repeat was! He is now ancient!Look to the future! Jackson, Madigan and Sexton are the 10s to be looking at! The shaw...you cant choose Madigan im afraid as he doesnt start for Leinster, or played in a major Heineken campaign, were as Jackson has. Oh wait he isnt starting for Leinster so he should probably get the nod to play saturday as it seems to work for ROG and Ocallaghan! Deccies logic offends me!hahaha!!

Fellow fans, can we tone the language down and stop the personal stuff? We all read the posts because we like a bit of fun and if someone makes an inaccurate statement, there is no need to ram it down her/his throat.

I am not surprised Kidney has stuck the same team (except for the Shane Williams-like Gilroy - boy does he know the way to the line!). Yes, it probably isn't the best, but it almost beat SA and since SA beat Argentina last time out, then logically Ireland MUST win, remain in the top 8 for the RWC draw and Kidney is hailed a genius and keeps his job! Hurrah!

On the other hand, if Ireland loses and the Gods do something for Somoa and Wales against France and NZ, respectively, then you-know-what will happen and Kidney will apologise and keep his job. That Irish rugby for you!

O' Callaghan nearly always tops the tackle count every game be it for Munster or Ireland.....guess that counts as doing nothing tho... am I right?

norm, now that strauss has shown up your boys by learning & singing the national anthem with gusto - is there any chance the Ulster boys will take a leaf out of his book so we can be spared the shame of Ireland's Call?
