Springbok centre Frans Steyn went for X-rays on his injured right ankle on Monday and has responded well to treatment ahead of Saturday's game.
Steyn injured his ankle during a warm-up drill on Monday and sat out Tuesday's training, with team doctor Craig Roberts explaining the situation.
"The X-rays were clear and the swelling has settled nicely. We are hoping to get him to do some training on Wednesday," he said.
Three more players did not train with the squad on Tuesday, and will be managed accordingly. They are Flip van der Merwe (calf), Jacques Potgieter (groin) and Lwazi Mvovo (hamstring).
A final call on the availability of these four players for Saturday's Test in the Rugby Championship, against Australia, will be made later in the week.
The three other players who did not train on Monday were back on the field on Tuesday - Tendai Mtawarira (stomach bug), Coenie Oosthuizen (muscle stiffness) and Johan Goosen (bruised heel).

I still can't believe that Potgieter is part of this squad. Flip vd Merwe is another player hasn't impressed for at least two seasons. I pray the boys play some rugby. Just for the record (and most 30 plus year old ex SAFFA rugby players would know this), we were taught in school to kick out in our half and play in the opposition's half. Then RUN (i.e pass it through the hands) to the wing and if you don't score then get the ball out the ruck and run it to the opposite wing again and so on. Tries were always a priority growing up! What the heck happened? Go Bokke!
