Trinats gives us Aussies a bad name, sorry all. Anyhoo, Argentina will be the whipping boys but not for long and they will play good rugby with some close results I hope. Bokkes by <5 for my money. Wobblies over Enzed by 10. Cheers

Trinats, behave!!

The wooden spoon decider will be in Rosario with Oz. You'd better check out what are the rules in case of a standing with the same level, so that you can edge them.

For tomorrow, I am quite nervous. The boks must get an early lead and stay focussed the whole match. The sooner they get a break advantage the better. Otherwise, it will be closer till the end. Go the Bokke y bienvenidos a nuestros amigos Argentinos. This must be the braai world's derby.

We need to keep an eye on Hernandez and Amorosino; they are both world class and can open most defences. I'm not so in awe of the ageing Argentinian pack though - they are experienced, but I doubt that they will go the distance. As we do not know them, we may be cautious at first which could be a mistake becuase of their passion, but we should be able to take it in the last 20 mins.

Its good for the Aussies (a certain one on this blog) that they can start to support a team again, now that the S15 is over. It must have been hard for them over the last few weeks!

"The Boks will have to up their game if they want to firstly keep their unbeaten record against Argentina intact, and secondly, compete in the Rugby Championship with an All Black team who laid down the gauntlet with an ominous 60-0 victory over Ireland to wrap up their series."

I agree that NZ are favourites but The Springboks will test them like no other in South Africa and to say they need to up it because the Irish didn't bother turning up in their third test is flawed logic. ItalySamoa/Fji/Tonga would have beaten Ireland that night too. Are they going to beat SA in their own back yard too???

I would love it if it was a walloping welcome for the Argies in their opener but I truly don't see that happening...I see us nervously sneaking it for the opener, such a shame about all the injuries, primarily my man JP! Very very disappointing to not see the gas man giving them hell on the wing but bokke till I die either wayyyy babby.

'The Pumas play straightforward, honest rugby...' Pray tell us what the other RC teams play - is it tricky, dishonest rugby?

I think people tend to overestimate the pumas front row. We've been put under pressure constantly in the last few years. Roncero is 35, Figallo's scrummaging is not that strong and Guiņazu is not even our first choice hooker. We used to have the best scum in the world in the 90's but that's history now. We are missing a strong ball carrier in the backs so that is a disadvantage as well. Our scrumhalf is of poor quality. Our second row will front up as Albacete is one of the best with his huge work rate. Lobbe will probably walk into any team's first XV. Hernandez at his best would probably give Carter a run for his money but his kicking abilities are still a little bit off. Gonzalez Amorosino holds the key to break a very strong South African defence. Anyway I still think the Boks will get this one by 10+. Our best chance to grab a win is against Australia in Rosario.

Hard not to see a S.Africa win,but i wouldnt write off the pumas yet.Thats a very solid team theve picked ,and the back 3 ozies pace..If J.M.Herandez can find his kicking boots and play 3/4 like he did in the 2007 RWC.S.Africa are going to have a very torrid time before i think just nicking a victory by 1-3. points. One thing i am sure of though is its gouing to be a very hard fought game and closer than alot of bokke would like imo

@Trinats... The battle for the wooden spoon will be on the 6th of October in the final game between Oz and the Argie Bargies, I predict Oz loosing that away battle and dropping famously from grace - winners to losers - you saw it here first!!

Umm.. Spies' injury isn't a blessing in disuise - just a straight blessing! Daniel is maybe not the ideal replacement given the emphasis on weavyweight forwards in this particular game. But he's earned his place.

Having the Argies in the competition is the best news for the competition in many years! Well for the ABs and Boks anyway - Aus might be contemplating 4th instead of 3rd this year;-)

Let the battle for the wodden spoon begin. I think SA with home advantage should win.
