i dont get the lack of depth in the second row thing. what have boric, eaton, hoeata done wrong? that seems like ridiculous depth to me

missionary -- yeah i dont think you get the concept of thinking with a brain. how does someone so stupid get through life? well done in that regard although you are not alone

I would rather see Clark really ,AWs experience just doesnt make up for his loss of form imo,and justify keeping a better player out of the squad.Are AB coaches going soft i wonder, as this never happened in the past

@missionary

Your comments are just the kind of bandwagon criticism I detest. You say Williams has been rubbish for a few seasons. For heaven's sake, he returned only last season, after nearly two years of being injured, so how can you say that?

Use your head before you jump on the next bandwagon.

Luckily our top 3 locks are impressive.

I will be surprised if Ali Williams ever makes it back.

Hoeata has failed to impress, not sure what all the hype is really.

Pity Liaki Moli isn't taller as his work rate is excellent.

Eaton has been better but Craig Clarke would be next pick.

missionary - Clarke not available for selection - out for 8 weeks with knee injury. I still doubt he would have been picked anyway, maybe Eaton or Hoeta ahead of him.

Craig Clarke very unlucky to miss the cut then. Just don't see the love affair with this guy. He's rubbish and has been for a few seasons. Offers nothing in the tight or core jobs and doesn't have the pace anymore. Time to move on. Retallick and Romano will have picked up enough experience before the EOYT kicks in, in November. Try Japan Ali. Or maybe the Force...they are keen on duds.

There has been an anti-Ali bandwagon this season. People have rushed to criticise a perceived lack of fitness, lack of form, lack of passion. Partly this is because the Blues had such a poor season, playing woefully in some games and unable to buy a scrap of luck in others, and therefore they drew a lot of cliched criticism.

Doubtless the critics will reappear, saying Ali won't be missed by the All Blacks. But that is not the Williams I have seen. Watch him for just a couple of minutes and you see a man working hard and doing things well.

And clearly the All Black selectors believe he is important to the squad. For the best part of two years while he was rehabilitating from injury they kept him close to the squad, often on the sideline at test matches. Now that he is injured again they are going to do the same again.

My big concern is only that Williams will not recover full fitness.
