@Jonesy2 look at armitage and warldrom, those two aren't exactly the most ripped players on the part, def put those two in the fatty category but yet are great players, armitage being the standout lose forward in the top 14. Also the kids only 19 and as been playing in victoria australia which I can tell you from experience is not know for rugby development and training. Give the kid a session or two with the right training and you'll see that baby fat turn into solid muscle.

must be the same one, found reference to Edwin Maka playing for Victoria, Australia, schoolboys - in 2005, in the Under 12 side. No mention of his size then, probably still under 100kg as an 11 year old!

And he was playing schoolboy rugby for Victoria just last year - quote: "Edwin Maka made some damaging runs" - I bet he did - but he didn't make either the national or 'A' schoolboys sides.

Good luck to him, hope they manage his development and not throw him in too early.

he is a big unit no doubt but does he have the heart for it and rest of the internal organs? to run all that bulk up and down the park he will need a big engine. at 8 if he cannot be fast it may be 5 to add bulk to pack.

not sure of the NH style of play these days but in the current S15, its the lean and fast 8 that makes headlines.

also from the photo he looks to have baby fat which will shed over time and harden thru extreame training. else he may look like some of the US BB players who are tall and big but have loads of fat all over (shaq comes to mind).

145kg of Guillamon and 130kg of Maka all arriving in Toulouse next season then and aged 21 and 19 respectively. Add in the likes of Tolofua, Johnstone, Steenkamp, Picamoles, David, Jauzion and Huget and it looks like Noves has gone size mad! I wonder what Ellisalde thinks of all this!

Look after your kidneys. That is truly massive and he still looks athletic with it. He's gonna get harder with I age as well. Seen a bit of video of him when he was 14. Looks to have a descent offload although easy to do when your guliver in Lilliput.
