Seems a bit of a shame to me, 3 of the bottom 5 teams in this years comp from Aus, they get a guaranteed Semi, and we can not fit in teams that would beat the Tahs, the Rabbles and the Force, and those teams are full of Kiwi/Saffa players.

Oneil has had far to much influence in Sanzar if you ask me.

This is what happens when you have politicians with huge egos making promises that it is not in their power to deliver on.

If I was involved with the Southern Kings I would take the money, as I can't see any reputable sponsor getting involved with them after all the nonsense that has gone on.

This whole Southern Kings ordeal is just madness. What were the SARU thinking when they agreed to let them into Super Rugby when they knew the current teams will not budge and its highly unlikely SANZAR will increase the comp to 16?

This is similar to the NZRU a few years back when they let Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Tasman and Counties back into the top NPC division, then a few years later tell them they will cut, then going back on their word because the teams packed a sulk and let them stay. Some of the general organisation of these sporting entities is just bizarre!

Super rugby DOES NOT need anymore NZ, Aus or SA teams. They each now have 5 teams each after years of moaning (even though I believe the new teams have added nothing!). Now is the time to expand outside these countries to Argentina, USA, Japan, Pacific Islands etc

I do agree with you. That would of been completely different because the Lions Union is munch stronger financially then the cheetahs. The only thing that keeps the cheetahs alive is Grey college and good young player with no name doing exceptional. There is also the fact that some of the players are farmers and don`t want to depart...

Here we go again...... please disband this team and everyone involved with it. They are even more dodgy than our politicians.

Wonder if the same would have happened if it had been the Cheetas that finished last and not the Lions?
