@ Frank81 - you could well be right. However I always felt that it was the lack of distributing centres at the Tigers which was his problem - lack of ball in hand. And, considering England's lack of distributing centres, I may have a point... MT is a great big lump and a heck of a powerful ball carrier, but he needs to chuck it about a bit more. Let's hope we find out and he proves me right, eh?

I, too, hope Henson wises up and gets media attention for his on-field displays, rather than any off-field antics. There's no doubting his talent, but there's not a lot of room for celebrity in rugby circles - it's just not cricket, chaps!

@ APV1 - I disagree. Agulla isn't good enough as a winger. He works hard, but that is about it. Leicester have regularly topped the try scoring charts in the Premiership, Agulla has chipped in with 8 in 48 games. I think Leicester have got the better deal with Miles Benjamin.

Henson has the ability, just not the mentality at the moment. He's a young 30 in rugby terms as he's hardly played recently. He has much more talent and ability than Vesty and Hipkiss at least. He'll be a great signing for London Welsh. As for Hooper's assertion, that seems to have been levelled at Bath for a while. Remember Meehan saying similar a couple of years back?

I think he still has potential to be a great centre - he will reach his peak form when he gains self-respect; and he will gain self-respect when he gains self-control (this applies to everyone btw). What he needs is a handful of senior players who, when he steps out of line, will reach out and give him a 'bit of a smack'. That will work.

I'm not sure if we can say he doesn't still have talent...before he broke his arm he was doing surprisingly well against england in the RWC warmup matches, he also keeps himself in remarkably good shape. At 30 he is hardly over the Hill and while i'd think he'll be rusty...like Jones says by November he should be firing on all cylinders, he will remember be getting week in week out rugby for Welsh wheras at Sarries/Toulon and especially blues he was struggling to find game time.

i think henson will sort himself out, i truly believe it. i was listening to the coach on sky news and i think the coach understands him and will know how to work with him.

you cant say he is a bad player just a player that has an attitude...i expect good things from henson at london welsh

Big, huge mistake. The man is a loose cannon, an accident waiting to happen. It is only Jones who wants him because he has a vested interest.

Unfortunately what ever talent he might have had he appears to have lost judging by last seasons performances!

Will he even start with them in September....

@ Frank81 - Agulla isn't a reject, he's excellent. Vesty I'll give you and, perhaps, Moody, but Agulla is a great player. The Tigers just didn't want him missing for the 4N Championship.

I am soo glad Bath went nowhere near Henson, one of Baths main problems last year was the team attitude, this came out recently when Hooper gave an interview, something in the dressing room was off. Part of this problem may have been signing guys like donald who demand a big wage and are not particularly motivated..Henson would be one of the worst guys to bring in and build a new team around...lots of attitude, living off past glories and heaps of unwanted media attention. As far as signing Leicester cast offs I think moody was the only mistake as everyone knew he would be off all the time with england and then would retire through injury. Vesty has been a great squad player over the past 2 seasons, i believe hipkiss will come into his own this year after a difficult 1st season with injuries and Agulla is a young quality winger who won fans player of the year at Tiggers.

Henson and SBW should form a company 'Centres for Rent'.

Not really a surprise that G.Henson has signed for L.Welsh,After all no one else seemed interested ,i just hope that he really knuckles down ,and plays rugby ,Maybe being the welsh golden boy /saviour was just too much for him when younger, but now as his nearig his final years ,that pressure has gone, and he can show his talant and abilty ,as its very doughtfull he will be getting any more welsh caps in the forseeable future imho

............I'm not holding my breath.

As in the past - all it'll take will be one decent celebrity tv contract or a perceived

' lack of respect ' from team mates or mgt & he'll spit the dummy & be off - again.

I suspect this won't work and in the end he will be bad news for Welsh. Much in the same way he's been bad news for most of his recent clubs.

His attitude is wrong and he's more interested in the celebrity lifestyle. And that does not sit very well in pro rugby.

Great signing if he knuckles down. Would like Bath to have shown an interest in him, rather than picking up Leicester rejects.

Good luck I say. His off field antics are negligible comparred to some sportsmen/women. I hope LW do well in this league

Question ? Who & When was the last player to be playing for London Welsh that was capped for Wales ?
