Rape is a very serious matter.... and a women, no matter what circumstances she may find herself in, has the right to say no to having sex,,,, The comments here - prejudging / guessing / speculating as what actually may have happened are completely unhelpful and indeed very unwelcome.

An allegation of rape should always be fully investigated by the proper authorities - and only after such investigation has taken place can any proper conclusions be drawn.

Reading your post made me feel sick,.. I'm guessing you don't have any daughters. Despite the fact that this particular case might or might not end resulting in charges, the undercurrent of you post and indeed others on thread suggests that if a woman finds herself in a situation she perhaps cannot handle,.. or is just too drunk to do anything about it, it's her fault if something happens, and that a man has the right to do whatever he wants.

This is a police matter,. NOTHING is clear,... and every poster on here who jumps to the defence of the players with a little side note "if it turns out to be true",... need to look in a mirror,.. WHY POST????

And for the record JayStarr, .. from what I see in my job,.. there are in fact, WAY too many unreported rapes.

@Jmanngod... Yeah, we've seen this before in New Zealand as well, almost exactly the same in fact. I reckon a load of BS just as the accusations against the England players was. It seems to me she new exactly what she was doing and Mum and Dad got the umpty when they found out their daughter had been less than the perfect princess. I apologize to her in advance if I am wrong, but I don't think I am.

What a load of nonsense.

Rape is one of the most awful crimes a human can be subjected to, but there are WAY too many cases of girls making false claims - either because they were drunk and out of control, or because they are attention-seekers (or both). I worked in nightclubs in London for nearly 9 years and can't tell you how many "rape" cases we had to deal with... getting the police in, area (toilets usually) closed off, going through the whole process, cctv, investigation...only to find out days later it was a false accusation.

If this girl went to the hotel out of her own will - and could find the hotel - I'm sure she wasn't THAT drunk... And what did she expect would happen there? If they met in a bar I'm sure they've done all the "socialising" they wanted there... so she wasn't going to the hotel to socialise!

If they find out this is a bogus accusation, I hope they sue her.

@Jmanngod, I'm sure we've seen this in every country in the world...just as much as we see drunk thugs being dominated by their "lessor head" and subsequently having sex with a half comatosed "consenting" woman...In SA there is an add for an alcoholic beverage that goes "it all comes together with a castle" but the leave out this part "it all falls apart with three castle..."

when i spent time in the U.S.A a couple of my friends were accused of rape...........they were arrested etc.......the acuser came in a couple of hours later and said she was lying and wanted to 'punish them' for turning her down......i this is a similair situation ....i hope.....fyi the police urged my firends to press charges on the girl they refused and just wanted out of the situation .....we returned home about two weeks later

@Jmanngod: the other way of looking at it would be, we've seen this before from visiting NZ teams, haven't we? It's not the first time members of a NZ rugby team have been accused of rape. And while we're at it, why don't we roll out the absolute rap sheet racked up by NZ's junior rugby teams all across the world. Didn't they fracture a few skulls in Argentina a few years ago?

First thing's first. I know a lot of people will come on here & jump to conclusions, remember this is an allegation not a guilty verdict.

This woman is a fan, had meet some of the players earlier, found out their hotel room number & then came to the hotel with the sole intention of going to the players room where she ended up getting drunk enough to blackout. Rightly or Wrongly, she is responsible for putting herself in such a vulnerable position.

She knows that she went into a room with 4 players but she can't indentify which player was involved as you revert to unconscious behaviour when you blackout.

I'm "assuming" she found some evidence of sexual contact when she woke up & I'm also "assuming" that the player involved has co-operated with police as they are now focussing on one player despite waiting on forensic results.

Rape is never ok, it is a very serious crime & I'm not going to speculate whether a crime was commited or not. I'm just providing some more background as this article doesn't give any information relating to the circumstances.
