In the latest planetrugby poll they ask who will win the rugby championship this year. 262 brain clots have Argentina over Australia to win the lot. I wish I knew who those people were so I could try and sell them some thing, like mud, snow or something else ridiculous. Surely I'd make a mint?

Guys, this is not new! Felipe has been talking for a long time now about this. He was never going to play the RC, not because the UAR or Stade Francais wouldnt alow him, but because he chose not to. He knows he wont be able to play the next World Cup, so he unselfishly resigned to play the RC, so he could help this unexperienced Pumas outfit during the June tests. Roro (Roncero) had the same idea, but after the first test against Italy, he got really exited again and chose to stop playing the june tests so he could rest now and then play the RC.

The important thing is that there is depth now for the Pumas, something we didnīt have 3 or 4 years ago, when we only had the european based players and no one else. Now with the High Performance Centers that have been built during the last few years all along the country, we are able to have one team playing the June test, another one playing the nations cup in Rumania, a 7īs team, the U-20 doing very good, the Pampas XV and still have 24 players resting for the RC.

Im not going to say we can be compared yet to the other great nations of this sport, but we are getting closer, and i am really exited and looking forward to what will happen this RC, and specially the effect all this competition will have for us in the World Cups to come.

So thats about all, hope my first post in PR clears some things out!

PS: I know my english is not the best, but im working on it! haha

This absolutely stinks and i can't believe that Contepomi is not more aggrieved that he will miss this history defining moment in Argentine rugby. For a competition such as this the clubs should have no option but to release the players.

Agreed. It would be a stupid idea

Irrespective of whether or not Argentina played a weaker team in June, it is ridiculous that some of their best players won't feature in the Rugby Championship. Why on earth should club rugby trump test rugby in terms of importance, particularly when it is for a club competition that runs for 10 months of the year?!

Hellovanite, I disagree. Is not logistically impossible, but have to create a new team there. Cannot move the old chaps from Europe. Need to make a good team with nerw blood. Pampas XV on vOdacom Cup was the first step in my opinion. After the first RC I think there will be more calls for Argentinian players from Sanzar teams and also the chance to create a one team where most of the players are argentinian (not all of them). Sure they will ahve to play only in the usual nations... In this case, I agree, is logistically nop sennse to have all the teams travel to argentina. Let them play for a few years in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, no changes there. Team can even be based in one of those countries. But majority of players from Argentina.

With Henry organizing a bit of structure in UAR and with clever people like Pichot wotking there, it could actually work.

Argentina in the super rugby champs? logistically impossible

Argentina has rested most of the best players, guys. In these matches the line up from Argentina is very poor. Contempomi and Roncero the only really capped players. I am really dissapointed if he is not playing in the RC but again, we need to get new weapons there, get new players. I really think the coach called up Contempomi on these test to give him a very good fareweel, letting him guide a young team against France. But could very well be the farewell. Time to build up on new blood.

The best Argentina team is not at all the one playing now. From here, only 8 players will joint the Pumas team for the RC. Remember that please.

I also think Arg needs at least one team in the Super 15. Will come. In the coming yearts probably more and more ARg players will play dwon under: until now they all played here because they had good contractas and good life style. There is a long tradition of Argentinian players in Europe, sometimes due also to passport reasons (ancestors). Now it is going to change. Just give time.

And I bet for at least 2 wins by Argentina in the coming championship.

These are the concerns that SANZAR has all along - that Argentina's best players wouldn't be available. Not a good look

Here's an idea- instead of a new South African team (southern kings) drop a south african team completely (lions) and merge it (lion kings, lol) and then one from the bottom of the table in the Australian conference then add two from Argentina. Then change the Aus conference and SA conference to a relegation/promotion system.

If Argentina cannot get the clubs to release their best players then Argentina can get's lost - why water down the worlds best rugby comp so the poms and the french can flog them in a provincial game? madness!
