@Jensrsa. For the record i have nothing against players of colour. We are a multi-racial society. That¿s what makes our country great. It sticks in my head that Rose had a tough day at the office when he played 10 for the Boks v Leicester Tigers. I cannot recall another 10 playing poorly for the Boks, hence my comparison. if you can enlighten me with another name I would take notice. I just want the best South African's to be playing for the Boks and bring back pride to the Jersey.

@ letsgoboks. Thanks for backing me up

I can understand everyone getting excited over Olivier - he isn't the best. But maybe this is to accommodate Steyn.

What - should Meyer have the whole backline as sharks and stormers? If Im not mistaken the two top teams in the super rugby are stormers and bulls....

If anything, we should be making a noise over Ryan Kankowski and Ruan Pienaar being in that line up.

So lets all just take it easy and get behind the boys. The coaching staff know what they are doing.

Jensrsa - thats because Goosen is class and Rose is an absolute disaster.

I don't think it has anything to do with the same old tired "coloured card". Lets move on.

With all due respect to Olivier - he has hardly ever had a bad game in a Springbok jersey. He tackles, hits the ruck, has some gas. Okay he's no Frans Steyn who is already a legend....but I think he will be up for this game.

Steve Walsh - interestingly I can't recall a game in recent times that SA have lost with him as the ref. Would be good to see some stats on that.

@boksmashoffice: Your comment about Jantjies shows your bias. Why would you compare him to Earl Rose? Because they're both players of colour? Nothing in his record so far suggest that your comparison is valid and I'm sure you wouldn't have said the same thing if it had been Johan Goosen who was selected.

What player would schedule his marriage on the same day as a Test? Unless it's a case of the bride wanting to show him who's boss!

As an outsider to Bok rugby, i have been mightily impressed with Whitehead's direct incisive running for the Sharks. De Jongh is a wily runner with great footwork and tremendous strength for his size, but i believe Whitehead to be the most direct 12 in SA Super teams ATM. Meyer seems to be making the same mistake Deans made with the ABs in 2003, preferring to select players from his own province that he trusted and not harnessing the talent of other provinces.

How I would love to see Andries Strauss in a Bok jersey. I know he's from the Free State, but when he played for the Sharks he gave everything for the jersey - he will never let you down, and he would die for the green and gold. C'mon Heyneke, give him a shot.

Jacques Potgieter I can understand playing as he is a bruiser like Alberts. How oliver can justify playing is beyond me. The man is lucky to be a regular for the Bulls. There so many options that have not been taken. I hope Manu feasts on him and the only positive i can see is we cannot lose the series. 3 - 0 would be a much nicer and warmer feeling. Glad to see aplon starting. Jantjies i hope does not do an Rose. i am still scarred from the match that he played against the Leicester Tigers. I hope we win but I cannot see it as Oliver is a major weakness.

@bloemboy: I just wondered as Adriaan played at centre for the Boks in a test once - a piece of rugby trivia :)

Must say I'm glad to see Elton in the team and hope he gets his opportunity. He has the ability to make his #12 look good so maybe he can do something with WO

Just like most of us feared. Olivier at 12 is the worst possible outcome, Olivier at 13 the second worst, Olivier on the bench third . . .

@Jensrsa I was thinking of Andries Strauss who has been having an excellent season, though any Strauss would do ahead of Olivier, Adriaan, Reichard, Tiaan.... It is that bad that I would even (cant believe I am saying this) prefer Kirshner in the side to Olivier...... (damn, I need therapy now)

@ rugby_rockstar - Although I tend to agree with you not looking forward to Steve Walsh refereeing, I'm not sure why you have stated that the standard of English rugby sucks. Explain. Do you mean that the standard of the rugby leagues within the UK suck? If so, the leagues are made up of players from all over the world. That comment is therefore inaccurate and the standard certainly does not 'suck'. If you are referring to the English team at the moment then although I absolutely agree that the Boks side ATM are far better, this English team that 'sucks' is brand new (and I mean BRAND NEW to almost a man), it is their first tour (and going to SA has to be one of the hardest) and they have on each test got to within 10 points of an established (although slightly changed) South African team. On that basis the Boks must also suck but just not quite as much. This is why you are very wrong on so many counts. So careful on the rant and it just ends up as drivel.

@dylbull cannot believe you are excited to see jantjies come on. He is never an international fly half. I am dreading the time he has to come on.

Urgh... steve walsh... whats the point? don't think I'll bother. Congrats RFU, PRL and IRB I've just walked away because your product is utter cak. You think I'm going to pay for any old rubbish you fob off on me then you've got another think coming. The standard of english rugby sucks, the referees act like they are inept or plain crooked!!! What kind of product is that!?! think I'll go quad biking instead, now thats a fun way to spend £60!

@bloemboy: Which Strauss are you talking about, Adriaan or Andries?

Os du Randt LOL. Brok Harris would also be a good option at centre.

Surprise, Surprise........ I don't know why they don't just change the name from Springboks to Blue Bulls. Only a Blue Bull would say Potgieter and Olivier over Joshua Strauss,Sila Kolisi and Juan de Jongh. Typical

Interesting stat here. Of the 36 tests that Olivier has played, the Boks have lost 18. Of those losses, 15 were in tests that he started. He has also only scored 1 try in 36 tests which has to be the lowest scoring rate of any centre on world rugby. Only Cobus Visagie has played more tests for a lower points return. (not sure about the last stat, but has to be very close if not 100% accurate).

I cannot believe that this is our best team when we have the likes of Brussouw, Elstedt, Johnston and Kolisi, far superior at flank while de Jongh, Taute, Ebershon, Whitehead, Strauss and Os du Randt all better at centre.

Ah, Steve Walsh refereeing and hopefully dusting up on the laws of the game ha ha. A few changes to the Boks but they are still strong. England will also have a few changes due to injuries. I will go as far as to say that England really should go all out to try and win this test and maybe they should get a result. They have got near but lacked the composure and to be quite frank have been on the back foot for most of the other tests. England need to get their hands on the ball early and really come hard at the Boks. If the Boks get the start like last week then the momentum is with them and we get blown away. You can't give the Boks an inch as they will take a mile and sail away. I also don't think that the Boks minds will be that bothered as they have done the job in hand and this will be an outing to trya few things for them. They certainly wont be crying in their braii if they lose and nor should they. Valuable lessons learned for England on this tour and they now know just how far their new side need to come. Unfortunately, this is quite a long way but I can see progress. Good luck guys . Let us win one eh Boks, please!
