Cooper needs to keep up his media profile it seems, give him something to tweet about, today's news he and Kurtley Beale are being investigated by ARU after a scuffle at Brisbane's Victory Hotel after they wanted to resume drinking but were denied access in the early hours of this morning.
ARU: "It's now a matter of a disciplinary procedure"
Go Quade!

anotherfarce - re British and Irish Lions - of course they are a touring team - they don't have a 'home' do they? To say they'd play better at home, where would that be? A composite side from four countries who have still struggled to win - the last 20 years played 16 won only 5.
Rarely beat them? Really?

You really are like a pack of ole belly-aching bitches, they lost so stop making excuses & get over it, they & the other SH sides will start losing more games in the near future as Wales, Ireland & England have become more professional in their training regimes & player professionalism. this includes sides like Samoa & Tonga who now can choose from a squad that plays mainly in europe & in the S15 to a degree so of course they are going to be better.
For the most part those days of walking onto the field & thinking a victory over a NH side is a given is long gone. The ABs are the only ones who can still do that in my book, but even they are facing ever increasing challenges. There have been huge changes in the rugby institutions making it more appealing for new players coming into the sport.
When the welsh roll oz this Saturday you will still be blaming coaches & players alike. You never pay any attention to the fact that other sides have just got better & its attracting new players.
A good example is the young irish team that knocked over the junior boks in their world cup.
The skill level is clearly shown from the UK when they combine as the British & Irish Lions. One thing you should also remember is they are always a touring side, how do you think SH sides would fare against them playing at home with all those players to choose from, my bet is you would rarely beat them so think on?????

Coincidence of the day, after this game, Robbie Deans and Eddie Jones have the same performance records as Oz coaches: both 57 matches, 33 wins, 23 losses and one draw, for a win percent of 57.9%. The team imploded under Jones in the end, losing eight of their last ten matches before he departed; no such slide for RD in comparison they've won 7 of last 10. Don't expect they could make any change this year - or if they do, not until the NH tour in Nov?

Deans hasn't become a bad coach overnight, same as bad players can't become good players overnight. If the talent isn't there then you just got to knuckle down and face the facts. Pity Cooper isn't ready but he's a liability at his best at times so no point risking him not 100%. However hopefully Aussie can come right for the weekend.

@makemehappy - I believe it was 33-12, or four tries to nil

Oh and following my previous comment, if you are greedy enough to set up an international 3 days after a Super weekend and 4 days before a second international what do you expect. Well done Mr O'Neil, if that is not setting up your coach to fail, and stuffing up you limited player's resources, I don't know what is. Just hope the money is worh it. So lay off Deans and concentrate on the real nillains.

@melkdave. Here, hear, couldn't agree more, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. For christ sake Harris couldn't even make Auckland!!!! You scratch below the top 22 and there is practically stuff all. From one that agreed with Henry's re-appointment at the time, I rate Deans
and really hope his time with the ABs comes. Its laughable that such a large number of Aussies take the easy option out and blame th coach.

Aus did nothing wrong here...the only teams with the experience to beat scotland in weather like that are those who've played in it all their lives and have big dominating packs in the set peice (Wales and England).

I feel for Walleroo & Trinats on this one, having lost to the Scots ourselves in similar weather conditions - first hand experience on how they can dig in. I don't believe Deano is the issue here & I have been saying all season there are too many super rugby sides in Australia, stretching the player base to breaking point. Hence all the injuries, followed up with international duty the next week after super rugby. I can only hope that England are not able to take advantage of this on Saturday. Chin up boys and get behind your team for the Welsh, they will need it.

Deans is mostly just the scapegoat. It's not like he's the only one in the coaching staff, picking the team, putting out a ridiculous schedule, or one of the players.
But I guess that's the same for any Head coach.
The Wallabies have been inconsistant for the best part of a decade now, long before Deans started.
If you look closely at the games they've lost that they were expected to win, it's always been the fowards that have been targeted & shown up & I'm pretty sure Deans isn't the fowards coach.

The tatics used by both teams where correct. Its would be impossible to play a high tempo running/passing game in those conditions,as it would to play a kicking game.Leaving a forward driving gameplan the only realistic option.Deans and Robinson got that call right make no mistake. Also blaming the team for not scoring a try is a bit harsh imo,so what if they where camped in the scottish 22 for most te 2nd half .Scotland where camped in the Australian 22 for most of the 1st half.great defence from both teams denied a try and both teams also showed great disapline only 5-8 penalities from both teams all match, speaks for its self.I also cant really understand all this Deans bashing from wallaby fans, its not his fault Australia havent got masses of class players ala NZ,and his recent record is very good only 4 losses i believe 2011-12,a Tri-Nations title and 3rd at the RWC imho thats a very good record .Better than SAs and 99% of national sides. So give the man a break ok he is doing a good job imho.

@Lovethisgame - "belted the Welsh" - what was the score??

markpat says...
Why is that when NH teams attribute low scoring 6 nations games to ridiculous weather to the conditions they get slated by SH fans, yet for OZ when it rains it's understandable that they can't pass the ball past #10.
Can't pass it past #10 !!!!!! NH schoolboys apparently have higher skill levels than the australian backs in we weather then.
What pathetic excuses from PROFESSIONAL rugby players!

bagging Deans has become a sport - but who are the other two on the Australian three-man selection panel? Way back I think Simon Poidevin was on the panel pre-Deans but that was a long time ago.
They are often referred to in news articles but only Deans is named.
And - no joke, try it yourself - I searched 'robbie deans' on the ARU website to try to find his co-selectors, and this is what I got back: "There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed."
