1. you made a basic factual error when you stated that munster were the only undefeated team (you actually wrote "defeated") in the HC
2. you made a disparaging and borderline racist reference to "foreign imports". isa an "import"? 4 years in ireland, with a family? straussy may well be declaring for ireland soon so will you still dismiss him as a foreigner when/if he starts at hooker for the national side? i could of course list off the journeymen who wore/are wearing a munster shirt but i won't because the fact is that every province has had its share of mercenaries, while also having many "foreigners" who settled long-term. yet you single out leinster - textbook bias
3. in another swipe at leinster, you see a connection between the fact that the irish backrow is made up of 2/3 leinster players and the team playing badly. by that faulty logic, i could blame the latest loss to wales on the "munster second row", or the RWC loss to wales on the "munster half-backs" - but i don't because even though i've little time for the national side i grasp the basic fact that province form has never translated, collectively, to national form
when you tally it all up black47 (let's recap: 1. wrong on basic facts 2. racism 3. poor logic) and compare it to my rather unimportant freudian slip, it would appear that it is in fact you who has embarrassed himself. to avoid this in the future, my advice to you would be to take off the red blindfold because it's distorting your perspective on all matters rugby-related and causes you to spew untold levels of anti-leinster bile
P.S. re "Sexyboy"...come on black47, i know folks down in 'de soathwesht' are a bit more chaste than us dubliners but have you seriously never wanted to engage in a spot of platonic man-love? aren't the thomond faithful like yourself fond of watching Donncha O'Chunkybums strut his stuff? ;)

De Villiers is a coach light years ahead of the game, while livremont managed to alienate every one of his squad, and stiil managed to get them to the final, GENIUS.
Lets not forget Martin Johnson is free.
Munster don't want Waynes Smith, he come in to discuss his pay with his world cup winners medal on.

munster the only undefeated team in the HEC? have a quick gander at the final pool 3 standings. munster are effectively the northampton of last year - breezed through a group with good teams on paper but who on the day weren't interested. mark my words, their limitations will be exposed eventually - hopefully by leinster in twickenham ;)
when i hear a munster fan knocking leinster for (supposed) reliance on overseas players, i have to say it makes me lose the will to live. the only thing stopping munster's scrum from folding like origami are their two first-choice SA props, and you should thank your lucky stars for that black47 because the alternatives are stephen archer (who, as far as i could tell, didn't get his bind once in the recent wolfhounds game) and "project player" peter borlase, who I think most sensible munster fans would agree has been a disaster. two crucial tries against castres were scored by howlett and chambers, both "foreign imports"
also, munster's probable "home" semi-final will be in the aviva, as far as i'm aware -effectively a neutral venue since I can't remember a recent time when munster won a match in dubbers. and it will likely be against toulouse (who, i would argue, are favourites before munster, ditto clermont)
i don't really see any correlation between ireland playing poorly and two-thirds of their backline being leinster players. i've little time for the national side but nevertheless i don't recall ireland winning anything of note when their backline was quinlan/wallace/leamy/foley, all the time while munster were performing well in europe - in other words, your hypothesis proves nothing and only serves to highlight a shining example of textbook munster bias

I think they were joking with De Villiers and Lievermont., Gerry Thornley of the IT thinks Wayne Smith would be the man, its hard to argue with that, being All Blacks backs coach for so long.
Gerry said in his article that Mafi is going to Perpingnannanan too along with O'Leary i didnt hear that!! With Lualua and Dowling arriving prop. the right move for him though.

Never liked MCGahan hes appointment has coincided with a drop in form for Munster (knocked out from the HC at group stages?? You dont think thats a drop in form?)
The provence can do much much better anyway. I wont be sorry to see him go dont rate him at all.
But the alternatives you guys are suggesting? DeVilliers? Really? O'Shea wont leave London, Bradly has a lot of loyalty and cant see him leaving a Scottish side on an upward curve (ok only sometimes!) Ulster will get Kirwin... Im actually at a lose as to whom they will get.

It should be Eddie O'Sullivan. He and Foley can resume their golfing partnership, and Eddie can hold onto the football until Axel's ready to control the controllables. Whatever else Eddie is, he's a proper backs coach, and he knows how to get his ducks in a row. Sure his time with Ireland ended acrimoniously and there are plenty still holding knives for him, but he presided over some forgotten victories like Ireland 43 England 13. It's time to bring him back from the naughty step.

Munster take your pick, in fact hire all 3. One for Forwards/Backs/Defence...
On a serious note I think it would be too early for Axl. Bradley would be a good choice, did well at Connacht (with nothing) and now doing well with Edinburgh. I'm sure the IRFU could lure him away. Don't see O'Shea taking it.
Jim Williams possibly but would he want to leave Oz again? Kirwan I'm sure could be signed unless Ulster go for him first.

@ leinster_goy says.... Munster are 2nd favorites & you come out with a stupid comment like Dream On ....plus they home advantage and also have a few players to come back from injury !!!!

Jim Williams has to be the man for the job. Munster will want Axel Foley kept as forwards coach. Will an incoming coach accept his assistants being picked for him? Williams will fit into the current set up. We need to add a top backs coach to get rid of Holland and for god sake get Ian Costelloe away from the players. Any good backs coaches floating around?

A Poet and you don't even know it....are you speaking from personal experience, have'nt you heard too much sun light is bad for you..
Speaking to the Munster supporters at work they all said that Jim Williams should come the other way. Axel Foley is showing his worth as a coach with the forward's but a season or 2 too early.
De Villiers or Livremont are free.

As a non-native of the Province of Eternal Darkness, it's understandable... he misses natural light, and the constant sound of wailing and the gnashing of teeth down there can get pretty tiresome.

Talk of Anthony Foley taking over, too soon for him i'd say. Conor O'Sea recently signed an extension at Harlequins so he's gone, don't know really, not E O'Sullivan though for god's sake..maybe southern hemisphere? We normally stick close to home but maybe time to expand the horizons. As long as we get a proper backs coach!!

The Irish Independent are quoted as say: "Former Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan and the All Blacks World Cup-winning assistant Wayne Smith are also leading contenders, after contract talks between McGahan and his Munster bosses reached a dead end earlier this month.
Munster may also sound out Michael Bradley, although the Edinburgh coach has only just begun an initially successful spell with the Scots, leading them to the Heineken Cup quarter-finals."
i think Conor O'Shea would be a popular choice, although he has just signed a two-year contract extension as coach of English side Harlequins so that rules him out. but as is the munster way i see former captain and current forwards coach Antony "Axil" Foley to the man to get the top job as it is the players that decide who they wished to be in charge.

Good luck to you Tony - I hope you go out on a high with a 2012 HC Medal in your back pocket....
Any chance Munster could persuade Conor O'Shea to come back across the pond?
