I agree with your thoughts on privatization but I believe allowing them to play elsewhere would not ruin the game domestically. It simply makes more room for fresh talent to emerge. Let some European club pay for the Haymans and Carters of the world. It's no reason why the Black jersey should suffer for it. You can't us the jersey as a leash to keep your talent at home. Just do like the Boks and use the vague threat that domestically based players would have first shot at the ABs and allow yourself access to the best players that are playing abroad.

An Argentine division in Super Rugby is the short-to-mid term answer to Los Pumas 4 Nations success. Once the IRB gets all nations on the same sheet of music it really won't matter where players choose to play their club rugby because in a perfect world a player would be able to represent their nation no matter what club they belonged to. I'm talking to you All Blacks and Wallabies selectors.
