Now that the dust has settled in the northern hemisphere, Planet Rugby looks at the guys who stole the show in week one of the November Tests.
Victories were picked up by Samoa, USA, Italy, England, Argentina, South Africa, France and finally New Zealand in an entertaining round.
So without further ado, here comes our offering - be sure to send in your own 15-1 team line-ups.
15 Alex Goode (England) - It was a lesson in how to take your chance when it comes along. Goode was lively in attack and assured in defence as he vindicated coach Stuart Lancaster's decision to pick him ahead of Mike Brown. If he keeps this up then a Ben Foden selection headache may arrive.
14 Gonzalo Camacho (Argentina) - Looked dangerous whenever in possession, and was equally up to the task on defence. The Pumas speedster bagged Argentina's second sensational try that helped the visitors secure their second win over Wales in Cardiff, 11 years to the day after their first. A mention too for England finisher Charlie Sharples, who grasped his opportunity to shine in Chris Ashton's absence with his first two tries for England.
13 Ben Smith (New Zealand) - We were impressed by the nimble feet of Keith Earls in attack while Manu Tuilagi definitely deserves a mention for his couple of tries against Fiji. But Smith is a line-hitting machine and would make many other teams in world rugby.
12 Tamati Ellison (New Zealand) - After much deliberation we settled on the Highlanders back, who combined well with his franchise team-mate on Sunday. When Ellison left New Zealand for Japan a few seasons ago, many felt it was the wrong move due to the centre's international quality, but he is back in black now and looks set to push Ma'a Nonu.
11 Robert Lilomaiava (Samoa) - Yes, no Tim Visser. Sorry Scotland fans but four tries on debut simply could not be ignored. Lilomaiava certainly announced himself on the Test stage on Friday but of course it was a difficult decision to leave the poacher that is Visser.
10 Dan Carter (New Zealand) - Maybe that missed drop-goal against Australia struck a nerve as Carter responded with a superb showing. He kicked well, directed his new centres and broke the line a few times for a top shift. Frederic Michalak was excellent in Paris.
9 Ruan Pienaar (South Africa) - Responsible for the only try in Dublin that turned the game in South Africa's favour. The Ulster nine has been hitting all the high notes for his province, and carried his exceptional form over to the international arena. Test experience is not a commodity the Springboks have in abundance, but Pienaar showed plenty of it on Saturday.
8 Louis Picamoles (France) - Akapusi Qera started the game well for Fiji but drifted as England took control. But there was only going to be one wearer of our eight jersey as Picamoles was a monster, carrying superbly throughout as his stock continues to rise.
7 David Denton (Scotland) - On for Ross Rennie with 19 minutes played, Denton was a real threat. He should get a second go next week as Rennie suffered a dislocated shoulder but it remains to be seen whether Andy Robinson opts to instead bring in a specialist openside.
6 Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe (Argentina) - Lobbe was once again the driving force of Argentina's back row with a series of strong carries. Always in the thick of the action, the Pumas skipper put in a man-of-the-match performance - which included setting up Juan Imhoff's try - to lead his troops to a famous win. Mention too for England loosie Tom Johnson, who deserved his first England try in the second half against Fiji at Twickenham.
5 Mike McCarthy (Ireland) - Strong in the tackle, excellent in the line-outs and made some timely defensive interventions too - McCarthy's bullish display that saw him front up to South Africa's pack was enough to earn him a man of the match award after 70 minutes played.
4 Luke Romano (New Zealand) - The 26-year-old seems to be maturing into an outstanding Test lock after a complete performance against Scotland. As per usual, Romano hit rucks aplenty and carried well but it was his link play and confidence in possession that stood out.
3 Nicolas Mas (France) - We came seriously close to picking the whole French front-row after that demolition of their Wallaby counterparts. However, only Mas makes the Planet Rugby cut because of other performances at hooker and loosehead. First class from him.
2 Adriaan Strauss (South Africa) An effective battering ram in the Bok pack, Strauss brought his hard-running power to proceedings as he consistently charged through or into Irish defenders - inflicting pain to anyone he came into contact with. McCarthy may have got the official man of the match gong, but Strauss was our clear winner in the hooking jersey.
1 Wyatt Crockett (New Zealand) - Extremely difficult to leave out French debutant Yannick Forestier and also Thomas Domingo for that matter for their combined hammering of Sekope Kepu. But much like Romano, Crockett showed the skills and composure of a back on Sunday and sneaks this starting jersey. Sona Taumalolo also shone for the Tongans.

@carpelone he came on after 19, not played for 19. He was excellent and got Scotland over the gainline alot, Grey deserves a mention too for his picamoles style carrying performance.

Even as a Scot I think McCaw should have got it over Denton, although Denton did put in a massive effort and has put his hand up for a potential Lions spot ( I agree there is a lot of competition form all the home nations for 6/8 spots). Also he came on after 19 mins not for 19 mins; so he played 61 min + injury time.
Although not really talked about I thought Mike Blair also had a massive game for Scotland and could also be fighting for a spot on the Lions as well. The 9 spot seems fairly open, we'll see how Danny Care gets on with tougher opposition. I don't rate Phillips and he didn't even start for Wales at the weekend - however I have a sneaky feeling he'll get the lions 9 shirt.
I have no problems leaving Visser out, his 2 tries were made by others, but it was quite a sight seeing him run past Cory Jane, with ease, to receive the pass for his first try and then to carry on running away from him.

@ rockman - I like the idea of an "Idiot of the Week" thread. The problem would be that it would be full of fellow-posters' names, rather than players'..!

rubbish and ridiculous as usual. im certain now that you dont watch the games or you just take the piss on every article PR. how can you leave out cory jane ans savea among others. i also found the comment that ben smith would make many other teams in the world amusing, that shouldnt be said about a player like smith, what i mean is, a 13 year old boy from invercargill could make most of europes teams.

@ Curates_egg
In reference to Earls nimble feet he did make quite a few half breaks and beat a number of defenders with foot work. With Earls tho i see the biggest problem is the pairing with Darcy. Unfortunately a great servant to the game Darcy is now a liability to whoever his centre partner is. Slow distribution, slow to meet the defence line, poor tackling. I would have dearly loved to see McFadden or Marshall with Earls. Hell even Bowe or Thrimble would have been interesting.
I see Earls as more of an 11 myself. What was your feelings on Zebo? I was quite impressed as he hasn't had much exposure to fullback.

Cian Healy quite clearly deserved to be ahead of Crockett. And Juan Imhoff was much more deserved than that Samoan who scored 4 tries against CANADA!

Denton came on after 19 minutes had been played guys, early injury to Rennie. And he took his chance with both hands, I seem to remember him going straight through Richie McCaw at one stage. All Blacks a class above but I would now be happy naming Denton, Gray and Visser in a Lions test team!!

I did not watch the England game, but Goode must have played the game of his life if he's being picked ahead of Israel Dagg at 15..!
I think Michelak was better at 10 than even Dan Carter. I also think the French scrum-half was better than Ruan Pienaar.
Picamoles was brilliant, so glad to see him at 8. The same for Lobbe. I also think Denton thorougly deserves his place. The tall blonde lock of Scotland is unfortunate to miss out - he was really good...
I definitely do NOT agree that Wyatt Crocket was the best loose-head prop - he made at least two dumb mistakes and did not nearly play to his best. The French tight-head was better.

Danny Care should have made this team despite the stupid yellow card.
Won't quibble with other selections though. The French had to play the Aussies, the Scots the ABs and the Irish the Boks so to put more England players in this team would not be a fair comparison of their play as against say the Irish players. This is why I agree with atg77.

He didn't play 19 mins... he came on AFTER 19 mins (and thus played for 61-ish).

Hey, if we're handing out caps to people playing Canada. then surely there ought to be more England stars for beating Fiji. Visser was playing against the All Blacks for crying out loud! He blew Cory Jane away!!! And you're giving the position to a player who was taking on Canada... Exactly who is this team of the week taking on? Sudbury U12's girl's school team? Its obviously a bit of a push over if you are omitting a guy who bested an All Black.

@carpelone - I agree about Pienaar, I thought he was poor. I thought France's scrum half was much better. Shocking as it is to say, Weepu also played fairly well.
Denton may have only played a short period but in that time Scotland were very effective in the pick and drive, largely due to Denton's introduction.

Award for idiot of the Week has to go to Ronan O'Gara. 127 international caps yet the best he can do is kick the ball away in the last attack of the game when his team are trailing 12-16. Pathetic!

Good selection. Senseless mention of Earls nimble feet. Unfortunately, a bad day at the office for Earls. The new coach will have to scramble to install BOD's successor after the failed Earls13 experiment. Don't get me wrong, I really like Earls but think he is a 15.

Useless exercise.
I saw Ire - SA and Pienaar was really pathetic.
I think that he is responsible for slowing down so much SA's pace. Strauss is nicely developing his leadership within the pack.
Happy for Denton, another boy from Zim. However, how could he take his mention with only 19 minutes played?
