Back-row forward, Robbie Diack, has signed a new three-year deal with Ulster to stay at Ravenhill until 2017.

The 27-year-old joined Ulster from the Stormers just over five years ago and has become a highly important member of the first team squad. He made his 100th appearance for Ulster, against Cardiff Blues in May.

Diack, who can play anywhere in the back-row was born in Johannesburg but is qualified to play for Ireland through residency. He was part of the Emerging Ireland squad that competed in the Tbilisi Cup in the summer.

"This wasn't a difficult decision to make. Ulster is an exciting place to be at the moment," said Diack.

"We have made huge progress as a team, we have a new stadium and excellent facilities. I just want to play my part over the next three years and help Ulster pick up some silverware."
