Carnt blame him or Olster for wanting to make sure his 100%.The Pro12 is so weak i dought it will effect Ulster much anyway Glasgow will hardly be a major test in the 1st game ,because of rustyness ect

this guy is fantastic for Ulster and Ireland and he needs as much time as possible to get back to full health...bring him back at the end of September for a few Rabo games, then hopefully he will be match fit for the start of Ulster's HC campaign - that would lead him nicely into the autumn internationals...

Hopefully he's in no rush to get back. Need him available for Lions tour. Gatland should be talking to his key lions to keep an eye on building steadily uninjured to their best at tour time.

I love Ferris (obviously biased as I'm an Ulster fan) but his body is broken. He needs a ridiculous amount of rest to get back contention and I'd say it's probably been a while since he was at full fitness.
Those knees are grinding 24/7. A pity... as he's an absolute animal.
