Ohhh touched a nerve there @blametheref didn't we. Of course BT shows respect to teamates, doesn't mean we fans have to do the same thing does it, makes for pretty boring banter both on here and at the game. BOD an ambassador? hmmm well perhaps it would be for the best that his first posting is not to NZ. Anyway enjoy the games and don't take it too seriously I was just trying to read between the lines of what Brad was saying, perhaps there could be another interpretation?
@APV1 what you guys up there have finally learned something and it's only taken 6 WC wins to 1, imagine the advances you could make over the next 24 years.

Have to say that Bakkies Botha is also a legend, probably a bit more in tune with the Dark Arts than BT, but I love watching SA when he's playing, SA are an easier prospect when he's not on the field, says something about his presence and I bet most of his detractors would love if he was on their team!

who else would be a contender in the ring for captain Brad Thorn? -tendai, the `Beast` -- jonah lomu? , pocock? , matfield? -- naah --there can only be one , like the movie , the highlander, at the end of the world, a battle between the 2 warriors, BRAD and BAAKIES -- and please no NZ referees ----

Darthbok, Baakies would get a beating unless he was able to put in a cheeap shot whilst Brad was looking in the other direction.

What a playing legend, he pays respects to both 'spheres. I reckon he has another season left in him, especially if he can earn another 250k Euro!

@darthbok - mate it would be a no contest. Thorn is an up front type of guy. No biting, gouging and kings hits while your back is turned.
All in jest of course. Bakkies - I love him actually. Just a hard nut.
Thorn deserves a lot of plaudits no matter what the result is over the weekend(s). He is just a great guy who doesn't (want to) stop.

this man is pure legend. I think that in any sport disciplines, by any standards, the amount of achievements he accomplished are remarkable, if not unique.
I hope he will get those two cups and retire in absolute happiness.

Can't see them not winning the Heineken Cup. Game against the Ospreys might be trickier - been a long old season!

From a munster supporter I have to say he's been a fantastic signing for leinster. Tough as nails. Mobile enough around the pitch. wWell able to tackle and ruck and a driving force in the scrum. A born winner

@Trader2
Pity you don't have the respect and genuine regard that Brad Thorn has when he speaks of his fellow NH and Leinster co-players...Ambassadors of the game such as Thorn and his team mate O' Driscoll are what makes the game of rugby universally great...You obviously never played the game at any advanced level, so consider showing some respect, you clown!

I'm almost certain brad thorn is made of adamantium. I predict he'll retire with all his trophies and become a marvel comic hero

Seems to me that if Thorn wins the Heineken Cup medal that he'd be the only player in the world to have won a World Cup medal, Super Cup medal and Heineken Cup medal, in other words the 3 top medals in World Rugby...is this correct or can one go any higher, Editor???
The Leinster faithful have taken to him big time as he seems to have with Leinster, their ability and Dublin's environs...as a supporter I know for sure he'll bust a gut to collect the medal on Saturday, good on ya BT!

Compare 2002 Brad Thorn to the player he developed into and you've gotta give him a fair bit of respect. He deserves the plaudits.

"In the southern hemisphere at the breakdown area, you have got to get out of there pretty quick. Over here, there's a bit more traffic going on in the rucks," Thorn said.
Wouldn't be too much of a shock for BT he has played plenty of NH teams that lie all over the ball all day, he wasn't saying they cheat a lot up north was he? Good luck Brad and remember you are 37 so try not to show up those wallys up there too much.

In the last 5 minutes of the semi, Clermont are bashing the leinster try-line with pick-and-drive after pick-and-drive, its Debatys who's next to take the pass, he with the other 2 front rowers pushing him on go for the line almost certain to cross it.
Not if Brad Thorn has anything to do with, he grabs the 3 of them and pushes them back 4 maybe 5 metres UNBELIEVEABLE. The man is a legend absolute Legend. I hope he plays til he's 50.
