Glasgow centre Alex Dunbar fired a warning to their RaboDirect PRO12 rivals that recent signing Carlin Isles is looking "really sharp" in training.
The USA Sevens exponent, who runs the 100 metres in an impressive 10.13 seconds, joined the Warriors after shining on the IRB Series.
And it appears he is already making waves at the Scotstoun Stadium outfit as international Dunbar explained to the Glasgow Evening Times.
"I have to say I don't think I have seen anyone as fast as Carlin before," he told the newspaper.
"I am sure his pace will be a real bonus for us once he has learned all the calls and rudiments of the 15-man game.
"Carlin looked really sharp and very, very quick. So we decided to test just how quick he was by putting him up against Jon Welsh in a race.
"To be honest it was over 50 metres and Welshy had a 40 metre start and to be fair to Carlin, he almost won. But unfortunately Welshy nicked it and we never heard the end of it and probably won't for the rest of the season.
"But he settled in really well and obviously it is a big plus that he has Folau Niua, his fellow American already in the squad. I am sure he has a big career ahead of him with Glasgow because he is a very exciting young talent."
