Benetton Treviso s Benjamin Vermaak v Glasgow

On top: Treviso's Benjamin Vermaak

Four penalties and a drop-goal from Kristopher Burton were enough to give Treviso a 15-13 Pro12 win over Glasgow at Firhill Stadium on Friday.

The opening quarter of the game was fairly tight, and showed the lack of confidence in two sides that had under-performed in the early stages of the tournament.

From turnover ball Horne showed silky hands to pass the ball to the right touchline for Duncan Weir to score in the corner. The fly-half converted his own try to give the home side a 7-0 lead after 11 minutes.

With Weir missing two relatively easy kicks at goal, the same could not be said of his opposite number, Kristopher Burton. The visiting fly-half successfully kicked two penalties in the first half hour of the game.

The dominant visiting pack resulted in the sin-binning of Warriors hooker Pat MacArthur, for repeated infringements at the ruck and maul.

On the stroke of half-time Chris Fusaro was penalised for having his hands in the ruck illegally. Burton added the three points to have Treviso leading 9-7 at half-time.

The Glasgow side started the second half with purpose and enthusiasm. This pressure on the Treviso try-line led to their captain Antonio Pavanello being sin-binned by referee Alan Falzone for pulling down the Warriors driving maul.

Weir kicked the penalty to put the home side back in front. The Glasgow lead did not last, as Burton made the Warriors pay for their ill-discipline by neatly slotting over a penalty to take the Italians into a 12-10 lead.

Falzone penalised Treviso for hands in the ruck, but unfortunately for the home side Weir was unable to kick the penalty.

Weir was replaced by Scott Wight and the kicking responsibilities feel onto the shoulders of the young man. He was called into action just minutes after his introduction into the game, and was successful with his first kick to put the home side back in front.

In a nervy several minutes of play for both sides, it took piece of instinctive brilliance from Burton to put his side back on top. He kicked an impressive drop-goal to put Treviso 15-13 up with only seven minutes remaining.

Wight tried to emulate his opposite numbers antics with a optimistic drop goal that went wide.

The Warriors were given a penalty with only minute's remaining, only for Wight to put it wide.
