Edinburgh back-row forward Stuart McInally is set for a move to hooker and is already hoping to be become "great" in his new-found position.
The 23-year-old, who has played flank for his whole career, is yet to win full Test recognition.
But after being told to make the switch by new Edinburgh coach Alan Solomons and Scotland boss Scott Johnson, he is confident of success.
"I want to be one of the best hookers in the world. That's my goal and to bring a different dimension," McInally told BBC Sport.
"I could have a good career in back-row. But, with the right application, I feel I could be a great hooker.
"There's faith in me to deliver this at the highest level and, longer-term, fulfil my international ambitions and play for Scotland."
