Helping out: Rob Powell

Cardiff Blues have recruited former London Broncos coach Rob Powell in an attempt to shore up their defence ahead of their clash against Toulon.

Only three months after Xavier Rush took over the defensive duties at the Arms Park, director of rugby Phil Davies has brought in outside help.

"Rob has come in and is working with 'Xav'. He will be here over the next three or four months," Davies told Wales Online on Thursday.

"Part of his brief is tackle technique. He came last week. He will be down every week. He will be a good acquisition and support within the coaching group."
