Glasgow Warriors ran four unanswered tries past Cardiff Blues on Friday for a convincing 31-3 Pro12 win at Firhill.

The Scottish outfit completed a first-ever season double over the Blues thanks to a brace of tries from Ryan Wilson before the number eight became one of two home back-row players to be stretchered off.

A bruising encounter started with international centre Graeme Morrison being the first to leave the field with a serious-looking knee injury, but Glasgow still went on to secure a well deserved 10-0 interval lead.

The deficit could easily have been more such was their superiority in every facet of the game especially the set-piece.

Pressure from a Glasgow scrum saw Wilson pick up and barge his way over the Blues line for the first score on 17 minutes. Duncan Weir converted.

Glasgow created further chances but had to rely on a Weir penalty on 32 minutes for their remaining points of the first half.

The home side remained on top after the break and Wilson grabbed his second try, again converted by Weir, to make it 17-0.

Blues finally got on the scoreboard through a Leigh Halfpenny penalty but moments later Jamie Roberts, starting his first match for the Welsh region this season, limped off with a twisted knee.

Wilson's superb display came to an abrupt end when he was stretchered off, and his back-row replacement, John Barclay, suffered the same fate after Fusaro had scored Glasgow's third try of the evening from Alex Dunbar's initial break.

Glasgow then secured the bonus point when wing Colin Shaw finished off a fine move started from well inside their own half.
