Moore out of Springbok Test

Stephen Moore Aus hooker 2011

Ruled out: Stephen Moore

Wallabies hooker Stephen Moore has been ruled out of Saturday's fixture against the Springboks in Perth after injuring his hamstring at training.

Moore was on Thursday sent for scans to determine how serious the damage was. He is now sidelined and will be replaced by Tatafu Polota-Nau while Saia Faingaa slots in as the back-up hooker on the replacements bench.

Australia prop Ben Alexander said preparations have not been affected by the withdrawal.

"We've been practicing a lot at training with lots of different combinations, we very rarely pack more than a couple in a row with the same guys," he told AAP.

"We're always changing props, changing sides, changing hookers, so it shouldn't cause any problem."

What's even more disappointing for Moore is that had he played, the Brumby would have overtaken Jeremy Paul as the most capped Wallabies hooker of all time.

Smith or Pocock never cheat, it just looks worse as they wear gold.

My theory McCaw gets away with so much is that by wearing black and playing under lights the refs "misses" a lot of the cheating. It's probably why France won in the 2007 world cup and McCaw got penalised more in that game than ever, was because he wasn't in Black (grey strip) !!!

Im sure if George Smith (the real one, not the one with the secret crush on Sharpe) and Pocock wore black you would notice they play(ed) with broken legs too.....

And great comeback btw...had no idea what i was gettin myself into...haha

What was that that Trinats said on another post - harden up. At least we know he is not being rested as there ain't much left in the paddock.

Seems like a lot of teams have taken a leaf out of Pdivvy's book on how to rest players nudge nudge wink wink, oh he is injured! Think they are resting him for the Pumas as Moore never gets injured.
