trinats2 admits in writing he's "interlectually inpared"
I rest my case.
a pom? 'fraid not, and no english ancestry either (not that there is anything wrong with that); though when I visit queensland I often get called english because I sound 'so well-educated', easy in the circumstances.
ferdinand, mascot of the taranaki rugby union, heartland rural new zealand thankyou very much.

I think Deans hasn't delivered to expectation, could have done better, and the writing is on the wall. Two simple points though:
- He is the coach of the second best team in the world. That's not a bad place to be although Oz don't want to accept anything less than being the best
- That said, the current Oz squad are simply not good enough to be the best - they don't have the skill, depth, discipline or mindset. A great coach could improve them but they still wouldn't manage more than an occassional upset over the current ABs at best. Stag says ABs would win with PDV at the helm - I agree, but I would also say that Oz currently wouldn't be No.1 with ANY other coach at the helm, and that is noting to do with Deans' mistakes
So Deans will get sacked, and the cycle will continue until the players step up and deliver the goods

Maybe Giteau was dropped because of all those points you claimed he left on the Park in Sydney LOL:)

Oh pliz. R.Deans is a hopeless coach. Just look at his record against All Blacks plus prior to that he had no Test rugby experience. He would bee a good coach if his team played well and lost to ABs but Wallabies just got rolled over, real bad. No sign of any game plan, no plan B, no plan C

@trinats - good to read you again "mate".
You can always have PDV...then again HM is the afrikaans version on an insane coach with a ridiculous mustache and no coaching sense (I pray he makes me eat my words) Anyways, feel the pain of having huge talent but no one to coach it. As for you Kiwis, it's true you play great rugby but as soon as our administration enter enlightenment, you gloating is history. Then again, that might take 30 years...Go Bokke!!!

Where to start?
Giteau was dropped because he missed 4 kickable chances vs Scotland and Oz lost, was consequently held accountable and threw his toys disrupting the team.. by which point Robbie was successfully promoting more exciting talent such as Beale, Cooper, Genia and O'Conner.. no brainer.
Also, it's widely believed that the Australian players (some , not all .. Giteau included) like to believe their own hype and are not willing to do the hard work both on and off the field. I suspect it's believable when you have mugs like Trinats bleating how they'd walk the Super comp, RC and whatever competition they play. This is not a Kiwi trait and Robbie will be struggling with the posers attitude.
There are also the problems with depth, no domestic comp, soft forwards etc..
Despite this Robbie has taken them from 4th to 2nd in the world. He has won 3/17 tests against the ABs which is about what history suggests happens, Steve Hansen is right, RD is a good coach but he will have to go, the blame game has been pushed too far already and change is required and as they have no other players to call upon then he is the only option.
Robbie and NZ believe in building success from the bottom up, grassroots and schools to club to province to super to international and we go about achieving results this way. Australia and their administration believe in building from the top down, either importing foreigners or league players and even the provincial comp (was it Gary Flowers who set-up) was cancelled by O'Neil... why?
I'd start by pointing the finger elsewhere but it's probably not totally unexpected that the blame is pointed everywhere but.

i'm a former and die hard All Blacks fan but atm i'm a big fan of the Wallabies when Deans became their coach i really feel sorry for him coz i haven't seen a weak and hopeless Australian team like this, since the era of Viliami 'Ofahengaue, John Eales, Tim Horan, Mathew Burke, Toutai Kefu and George Smith etc. Deans is a better coach but the Australian players aren't willing to win and strive for the best and No.1 team in the world.
Come on guys!! (Wallabies) Don't be a loser!!

Does anyone think the ABs would have lost if Deans was the AB coach? Or Oz would have won with Hansen? Coach has an important role but his no more important than one world class player on form. Beale did more to mess up the first game than Deans did. Blaming the coach is Ozzie version of Kiwi blame the ref.

ABs would win the championship with PDV at the helm - Hansen's the luckiest guy in the world.

I'd believe any other coach than the national coach of NZ backing an NZer coaching their greatest rival. Hansen doesn't have an interest in Australia's welfare, he just saying these things to protect his mates job.

If Deans were lucky enough to coach the All Blacks, the All Blacks would still be number one and every other team would still be playing catch up with the All Blacks.

I agree with Trinats in that a decent coach should be able to get this sub-par bunch working effectively. The game play he is trying though, reduced numbers in rucks and wide, sweeping passes does not work with these players. The forwards, quite frankly, are too lazy. Sharpe is nowhere near as good as Simmons and just looks clumsy and ponderous as ever. I couldn't believe the adulation being poured on him before the RC, touting him as one of the best locks of all time. He has never been close to being the best in the world at any point precisely because of his lack of finesse. He was good and he works hard, but if you look at the world's top locks he's a long way off. Timani is just plain lazy. He is getting better but his work rate is absolutely atrocious. He flatters to deceive with a few big hits and carries but spends a lot of time lurking around outside the 13 and walking around. Dennis looks totally out of his depth and Higginbotham looks like he is getting frustrated with having to do the donkey work. Polota-Nau and Moore are both half decent and Robinson and Alexander look fairly solid in the tight but offer little in the loose. The backs are misfiring but I think that is down to the poor ball they are getting and that forwards are not offering themselves as ball carriers either side of the breakdown like the All Blacks do in order to keep defences guessing. It's clearly only going one way and slowly at present (the Aussie attack, although this is true of the team as well).

Obviously the coach of the Wallabies should be Ewan McKenzie. Dingo deans must have compromising pictures of John O'Neil or something. His contract extension before the WC reeks.

Well the australian media ,is almost as bad a the british ,when it comes to building people up ,then crying blue muder for their sacking.,when things go wrong, even if it isnt their fault.Sacking Deans would be a very big mistake ,as imho no austrlian coach could do any better, and most probably would be worse.Lets not forget D.Nurica just this year did a review for the ARU ,and he sacked the backs coach, which i thought wwas a big mistake, now the attack is non exsistent and the defence is lfalling off tackles and having to scramble, virtually every opposistion attack. That was a ARU decision not Deans,im sure he didnt want his staff disrupted.Im also pretty sure that if Deans is sacked he will be snapped up very quickly by another country or a NZ S15 outfit ,I just cant see him wanting to take over the Tahs after being hounded so much by the australian media .Ireland i feel woud be a perfect fit for him ,a lot of quality players ,and qutite a few talanted youngsters comming through aswell.and surlyD.Kidney cant survie much longer, espically if he has a bad aurtum series.

I actually think Trinats2 has a point. The kiwi mind is wired a little different to the Aussie mind, and maybe Deans doesn't carry the swagger/bluster needed to stimulate these guys.
And I for one agree dropping Gitaeu was mad.
I don't think any rugby follower would look at this situation and surmise that Deans is a bad coach. But the mix doesn't seem quite right, and you can't sack the country, so the only other option...
But I can't see a change of coach changing much. Aust rugby seems to have some fairly major issues. And Trinats' assertion that a decent coach would have the current Wallaby squad as no.1?
Maybe. If all were fit. Every week. And the scrums weren't contested. And breakdown cleanouts were outlawed. And Pocock was allowed to enter every ruck from every angle he felt like every time. And points were awarded per goose-step rather than for field goals (Quade would be creaming it).
But otherwise I don't really see it...

Deans has been successful as we all know but if he can't deliver for OZ then he simply must be sacked! Past glories are meaningless...
He won't see the new year as coach and then Oz fans get themselves one of their one as the coach and then we will know the real story!

To spell it out for you, you are obviosly interlectually inpared (window licker) they were sating "they are settling for silver instead of gold" !!! Which is very Un-Australian, hence the "headlines"
