Do us a favour and shut down Leebok and Ruckingkiwi, they're carrying on and it's a pain even seeing the entries let alone read them. I come to this blog to hopefully learn something from a different opinion, but after the 5+ communications between them on a single Carter block / maintaining a line, they obviously can't agree and I wish the banter would cease and we return to something resembling considered constructive debate. Ta.

@Wallaroo, thanks for the chuckle. The Aussies are doing a supreme job of hiding this "talent" and not flaunting it.
As for Genia, all I can say is that without Cooper he has looked quite average and certainly hasn't seen the form he was in last year. Calling him the greatest is laughable when Fourie du Preez is still walks the planet. There are some very good prospects such as Aaron Smith, and Perenara who are very decent prospects and the Aussie 9 in the best form at the moment is probably Sheehan imo

@ barkerda, you list the Queensland youngsters like this automatically makes them good. The reds arent having a very good season by the way, possibly because these youngsters are just not in the same league as the Saffa and Kiwi youngsters. You cannot begin to compare Slipper to Oosthuisen, or Genia to Hougaard. As for the rest, lets hope they grow up to be decent players so that the Championship doesnt turn into a 2 horse race with the Wobblies occasionally beating the Pumas to 3rd every decade or so.
The only Brumbies team that seem to have some quality youngsters coming through are the Brumbies at this stage.

Leebok, no one except you and your mate on the Bulls' sideline plays according to those "rules". Carter was under no obligation to make way for a defender just because that player wanted to make a tackle. Carter was entitled to maintain his line as a support runner. He would have committed an offence only if he had changed his line AND done so to impede a defender.
If a Bull wasn't able to make a tackle because someone was in the way, that's just tough. (Incidentally, it's what happens when the ball comes out of 99 per cent of rucks, mauls, scrums and lineouts, and of course no one gets penalised for it.)
Really, Leebok, people are getting tired of your ignorant pronouncements. Learn the rules.

I love these comments about Oz not having any youngsters coming through...just because they've been around for a few years doesn't make them any older. Look at the current reds team (injuries excluded). Hanson 22 Slipper 22, Simmons 22, Gill 19, Schatz 21, Genia 22, Lane 21 (yes he's partly S'African), Tapuai 22 Davies 22, Morahan 21, Shipperley 21....need I go on...and that's only in Qld. Agree that some of the other youngsters have had a better season so far but to say that Australia isn't producing young footballers is an ignorant oversight.

Can't really argue with most of the picks except for M.Styen ,quite a few 10s played better alround games imo.Also have to agree that there are very promising youngsters up an comming for NZ and SA .England will not have an easy tour by any streach of the imagination .Im just hoping that all the games are very close ,hard fought and the winners pushed to their limits .If England win the series great but myself just lookiing / hoping for a single test win ..As for Irelands chances against NZ just can't see them wining a single test .sorry.Of course NH hopes this year are for Wales to win the series against Australia .Its going to be hard and close but i feel this year Wales can do it .i think they finally belive in themselves and more importantly that they turn those close defeats into Ws this time round.Lets all just hope that all the tours produce great games we will be talking about even in 2013 lol

@ Dylbull: Decent team... but I'm still not convinced about Greyling's Bok credentials. He had a good SR season last year as well, but then folded in the Bok jersey. I'd stick with Beast, Bismarck and Jannie when it comes to tests... with Coenie on the bench as an impact player.
I agree that Hougaard and Goosen would make the best halfback combination, with Lambie playing at 15 (Taute still needs to mature) - and that Francois Steyn and De Jongh should be the centres...
I'm just not keen on Bjorn Basson or Mvovo starting. I'd rather have Aplon on the field - and even Habana is starting to look like himself again. They both have a better all-round game than Basson or Mvovo as well. But if you were thinking in terms of the future, then I'd say JJ Engelbrecht is the future... (Now if only the Bulls can realise that and give him a starting spot!)
As for the forwards: I won't pick anybody ahead of Eben Etzebeth! 20-year-old, shmenty-year-old... If you're good enough, you're old enough! And he is busy stealing more line-out balls and making more yards than Andries Bekker..!
Also, I would have Duanne Vermeulen at 8 - he is far more physical than Spies and much better in defense. Spies is more athletic and has the ability to gain a lot of yards... but to be honest, I can't remember when last he broke the line. In-close Duanne gives more go-forward.
And lastly, in a team like that you should probably have Schalk Burger - and have him as captain. You can play Brussouw at 6 and Schalk at 7 (he did really well there in the WC), with Duanne at 8... And then bring on Kolisi or Spies on as an athletic impact player - or Alberts/Deysel if you need a wrecking ball.
The best of everything - Goosen, Lambie, Taute, Etzebeth, Coenie and Kolisi are all like 20 years old! Hougaard, De Jongh and Steyn are 23 and 24...Jannie du Plessis is the oldest at 29!

Neither side having space for Duane Vermeulen, Tiaan Liebenberg, JP Peterson or Charl McLeod, all of whom would get a place in most squads, and not even mentioning most of the foreign based players, Depth is looking seriously good at the moment. The only other country that seems to have a young crop with reasonable potential is Wales, though they just dont have the depth in numbers. As always, the Kiwis will have a steady stream of quality players coming through as will England.
Bring on 2015

@Trinats, Yeah I know. We beat the Lions by almost the same margin as the Hurricanes, lol. Mind you, the Lions havent had any easy games yet, only against SA and NZ sides so they are bound to improve. The top Aussie side was pushed all the way and scraped 1 point in the dying minutes, at home against the 4th ranked Saffa side.
Suffice to say Ill be watching for your excuses when the Aussie sides continue to get stuffed week in. the only way they pick up points is by playing each other.
