@ melkdave: Don't worry about South African depth my friend... The Stormers have a production line that can feed two countries. The reason Alistair Coetzee looked somewhere else is because he needed someone with top class rugby experience - and this dude played at the World Cup.

@ benski: They couldn't come to an agreement with Bath.

If this guy can come with the same attitude Canada played with at the World Cup, then this will be a very good signing.

Good on ya Jebb, hope you do well and show them how a Canadian tackles.

I wouldn't look at this move as a signal that South African rugby doesn't have depth. I'd look at it as the Stormers are in contention for a Super Rugby title and want to bring in someone who's been competing at a high level instead of using this as an opportunity to see what a developing yet unproven South African might be able to do. This player has international experience on one of the top 15 nations in the world. On the other hand to question South Africa's depth in my opinion is non-sense. They're consistently among the best in the world and frankly have the best domestic competition, esp. in terms of physicality amongst the forwards.

Well good news for Sinclair and north american players in general in that their worth is being regognised .What it says about the depth of SA rugby is worrying though ,no players of the required standard at all says alot about the Vodafone cup imo and just maybe the Currie cup

That will be interesting. Looking forward to seeing how he adapts to super rugby, seemed to take to the premiership pretty easy! As Kitch Christie said in 1995, North Americans have a brilliant culture of contact skills and Sinclair does seem to have that abrasive Jamie Cudmore quality about his game but with a bit more dynamism I think

very interesting...so that means there are no backrow players available in South Africa playing for the smaller provinces e.g. griquas, valke, border who have been playing in the vodacom cup? not too sure of this one really

I'm always pleased to see North American players getting time in major professional leagues...even if they are Canadians.
