Lol France vs Ireland? That wasn't a great game by any means, I found the Crusaders vs Highlanders game a significantly better watch than that.
Sure you are going to get a few of these penalty-fests in the early rounds with the refs cracking down & the teams a bit rusty but in 3 or 4 weeks it will hit its stride & It's not like this years six nations has been full of exciting rugby anyway.

i wouldnt say the S15 so far has been boring m8 .Just as you would expect on a par with the Top14 and AP.The one thing that does seem apparant though is a wide gulf between those teams you would consider as contenders and the rest and that does seem to distract a little from the overall competion. But its never boring

@ pog-mahone: Yeah, draws are riveting...
It's the 2nd week mate! Even the Crusaders are looking disjointed and rusty... Why? Cause we haven't played since the World Cup!
Besides, why are you comparing Super Rugby with the Six Nations? Compare Super Rugby with the Heineken Cup and the Six Nations with the Tri-Nations... then you might get a more accurate result.

I'm glad Coetzee and JdV are giving themselves this massive slap on the back... because none of the Stormers fans are doing it.
I was at Newlands on Saturday and can assure you that the cheering was purely out of relief. Newlands was actually quiet for most of the game, considering that there were over 40,000 fans in the stands. The talk on the walk out was one of frustration and loss of patience. Yes, it was only the 2nd game of the season - but the problems were the same old same old problems as last season...
The biggest problem being their cluelessness on attack - their chronic inability to score tries... and this with some of the best backs in the world! It's verging on pathetic by now.
You've given us every excuse in the book, Alistair and Jean... But the fact remains that bottom-dwellers like the Cheetahs, Lions, etc. already look far better with ball in hand than we do - just like they did last year. And this while we have FAR better talent in our backline... and get FAR better ball from our forwards..! It's absolutely mind-boggling.
The fact is, nevermind what you say - the Sharks were NOT that good! And neither were the Hurricanes! If we want to make the play-offs, we need to take a SERIOUS step up - VERY quickly - because we're busy struggling with relatively poor teams who are at half strength.
And we're not going to top our conference or make the play-offs by scoring the least tries in the tournament again.
The reason why the Crusaders are always contenders and the Stormers are always also-rans is because the Stormers culture is to say something like "you can't score tries from first phase ball anymore", while the Crusaders culture is to find a way to outsmart their opponents as they did with the brilliant move that created the Dagg try...
The Crusaders always find a way, the Stormers always find an excuse.
WAKE UP.

Watched some of these Super 15 games, boring stuff. No comparison to France v Ireland in the 6 Nations.
