Dangerous tackle: Frans Steyn

Frans Steyn and Rob Horne have both been cited for dangerous tackles in the Sharks win over the Waratahs on Saturday.

Steyn has been cited for a dangerous tackle on Kurtley Beale, while Horne's citing is for a dangerous tackle on Steyn himself as well as punching/striking.

Steyn is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous tackling when he made contact with Waratahs' player Beale.

The referee for the match, Mike Fraser, awarded a penalty for the incident which occurred in the 24th minute.

Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.

The Citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC.

Horne is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (a) Punching or striking and 10.4 (e) Dangerous tackling when he made contact with Steyn.

The referee for the match, Mike Fraser, awarded a penalty for the incident which occurred in the 16th minute.

Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play and the Citing is also to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC.
