Waratahs back-row Stephen Hoiles has urged his team-mates to back themselves in Saturday's Super Rugby Final against the Crusaders.

Hoiles has made a remarkable recovery from a career-threatening Achilles injury and is desperate for the Waratahs to claim their first title after being on the bench when they lost the 2005 final to the Crusaders in Christchurch.

The Sydneysiders have lost their last 11 matches to the seven-time champions but Hoiles wants the Sydneysiders to embrace the pressure which is on them to finally win win the title.

"[In 2005] we were probably a bit gun shy, we didn't fire our shots," Hoiles told Rugby Heaven.

"We were a bit in awe of the Crusaders back then, I don't think there's a more respected side in world rugby than the Crusaders.

"I do believe we're a side that won't die wondering. We'll put everything on the line.

"If you show all your cards and you lose, you can live with that. You don't want to go out there and be afraid of losing.

"This journey has taught me a lot about life, but I knew what I had to do and I've never enjoyed my rugby so much."
