Waratahs lock Sitaleki Timani has been ruled out of Friday's Super Rugby clash with the Rebels at Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

The Wallabies second row was originally named on the bench, but coach Michael Cheika confirmed on Thursday he would not be able tp play due to a thigh injury picked up in the 'Tahs 25-17 loss to the Reds last weekend.


"He just wasn't right and it's only early in the season so Greg Peterson will take his place on the bench," he said.
