@ ResearchBoy says... "Arizona Taumalolo (Chiefs): An all Blacks star of the future. For sure" yeap, all we have to do is put his name on the team sheet as Nebraska or South Carolina & tell everyone he's Arizona's long lost twin brother no-one ever heard of until now... or maybe you're just a fumbduck who doesn't know that he played for Tonga at RWC 2011?

I think the Highklanders are going to struggle for the next 3 weeks and the Rebels for the rest of the season. Such is the power and skill of Haskell and Cipriani, who will be missed by their respective teams.

Only the Big Man can save them now.

(And I don't mean Bryce Lawrence..!)

Mate, reality did bite, when Reds at 17 - 0 against the Sharks in SA, lost two No.10 and a sin bin to Ioane, from that point on it was always up hill. But even with the two injuries in the first 7 mintues against the Stormers plus all other injuries still think the reds will make the play offs. And who knows, when they have players back (best attacking 10 in the world etc,) after June will be back to where they were last year, CHAMPIONS !

@ Carpelone... Bulls should go top of the SA conf this week, you'd have to think they'll put plenty past Melbourne, hard to see them not making the 6 from there...

Brumbies are already 4 & 6 ahead of Worrytahs & Rids, expect them to be 7 - 9 ahead come Sunday*, only they will make the 6 as 'tahs & Rids will be well adrift come the June break...

Chiefs & Stormers are locked in, Crusaders are on a roll, leaving imo Sharks & Highlanders fighting for the other place in the 6: Highlanders have a handy lead atm but will shed most of it if Sharks beat them this week... still think Sharks will just miss out but it's gonna be close!

* the strange gurgling sound you'll hear on Sunday arvo NZ time will be the Rids season going down the plug-hole; and the sobbing will be the poster formerly known as Trinats discovering that reality bites...

@ AVP1 ...I'm surprised so many took the bait .

No one has mentioned the AB's will have a new coaching setup too and that nothing is a given ....I remember they ran NZ close on one game last tour .

What Ireland doesn't have that their monster H.C. sides have is SH players and coaches.

Can we have Brad thorn back please?

APV1, No problem. It was so ironic that I had to point it out. Back to rugby: How many Saffas, team and coaching staff, are you all bringing with you? We ought to set up a pub somewhere for PR posters to meet.

Carpelone says...

I am more interested in commenting about the teams.

It seems that real values are emerging and that Chiefs, Crusaders and Stormes (in strict alphabetical order) are the best teams at the moment and that they are quite likely to make the playoff.

Brumbies should be the winners of the Aus Conference, the Bulls should grasp a spot too. The sixth could be the Waratahs, they would take advantage from the derby system.

Guys my posts are going haywire (I think PR are on the same stuff as APV1) the one here should have been on the Wayne smith "snub" sorry cannot explain what is going on maybe PR can shed some light.

The right decision for all involved and I agree with my old friend APV1 it gives Mike Catt a chance to make his mark, yes I know he is Saffa born but he has earned his stripes for England over a long period of time. Smithy would have been on a hiding to nothing if he had have taken the position, lets face it what does he have to prove and he would not want to be remembered as a coach of a losing WC team in their own back yard.

I think some people need a sense of humour check and realise the difference between a joke and 'trolling'. I thought APV1's comment was very amusing! Sias Ebersohn should get a mention for his match-winning non-penalty. I would have thought Jimmy Cowan would've been mentioned, didn't he come on and score 2 tries?!

Screw the past I'm looking foward to the future. The return to 3 test series is going to be epic. There's been no international Rugby in the SH for 6 months & I'm starting to crack.

Now back to the real subject. Good choices PR.

Elliot played exceptionally well - love the comment left destruction in his wake, so true.

Agree for a rookie Carr was amazing.

Can't wait for Hooper to join the Tah's we already have great loose forwards but this just adds to the plethora.

I beg to differ. With the current injuries, there could be some shocks. And I say current, as there is still another few weeks to go yet, and the way Aus are going they may have to cancel if they can't get 15 bodies on the park..

Fully agree. Barnstorming performance. He was so fast that he even got penalised without infringing the laws.

The outstanding player in Super Rugby at the moment.

@ new_j4a - kind of you to point it out and I apologise for any offense caused. In this case, it's a word used to mean that they will get beaten very easily and by a big score, suffering at the hands of the NH teams. I could just as easily used "marmalised", "crucified", " destroyed" or "anihilated". But I was worried about offending oranges, Romans, Conan and / or people called Anna.

@ kiwilad - that's kind of you. Perhaps I was having an off day...

@ sandal - but it's so easy and so much fun..!

;-)

I wouldn't say that, the Irish beat the Aussies in the WC and although the Saffa games were in Dublin, they were still full strength outfits.

@rocky15 all those wins from ireland were "in ireland" with the tourists having under strength teams.
