Lions have always been a good side in Currie Cup but lack the depth in Super Rugby. So from a Lions supporter joining the cheetahs may not be a bad move.

Interested to hear from Lions supporters whether you'd prefer to merge with the Cheetahs (or Bulls,) or take the drop & look to come back in via the promotion/ relegation, should that actually be put in place. I realise that all true supporters will say neither but that doesn't appear to be an option so if you were De Klerk & his board, what would you do?

I still feel that the reforming of the Cats(Cheetahs &L;ions ) franchise is their best hope of S15 paticipation next season .It also might make annother franchise capable of challanging for the S15 title .Which would be a very welcome addition imo At the moment there just arnt enough of them imo.Even the Brumbies if they win the Australian conferance wouldnt be genuine contenders going on the overall table points totals(no slight intended to the Brumbies) and S15 needs as many challangers as there can be otherwise it will start to stagnate ,with the same teams contesting the title every year

This is crazy. If the Lions, who put together a great Curry Cup team last year, are struggling in Super Rugby then god help the Cheeky Kings who didnt even qualify for the Curry Cup.
There is only political support for this daft idea and sacrificing the Joburg franchise or forcing another Freestate amalgamation will be criminal.
