Staying on tour: Smith

Hurricanes captain and centre Conrad Smith is set to remain with his touring team in South Africa but will not play against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.

The All Black was knocked out when attempting a tackle against the Bulls last weekend and was unconscious for nearly a minute before departing.

Hurricanes boss Mark Hammett was unsure when his centre would return to action but revealed he would not feature this Friday.

"In terms of my perspective he's seems very chirpy and quite upbeat," he told sportal.co.nz.

"He came down to training with us and took a very limited part in that. In terms of his general well being, his general feeling, he's very up. Probably more so than he thought he would be as well."
