Richie McCaw claims he is happy in spite of a limited involvement with Super Rugby this season, and criticism of his performances.
The All Black skipper is currently sidelined thanks to a thumb injury, and has faced criticism from media and spectators who reckon his career is on the slide.
McCaw uncharacteristically missed several important tackles as the Crusaders fell to defeat against the Blues last week, though the misses appeared all the more glaring given the openside was the only would-be tackler in range for his side.
And with the statistics firmly in his favour, McCaw says occasional errors are inevitable.
"To be honest you do miss some tackles (and) you're always going to make mistakes," McCaw told Veitch on Sport.
"But I've got to say the rest of the game was ok that I played and I felt in pretty good nick.
"I still feel like I can go out, perform and do just as well."
