Crusaders fly-half Dan Carter has called for an end to the booing of players - regardless of where they are playing.
Speaking after his opposite number on Saturday, the Reds' Quade Cooper, was booed every time he touched the ball during their play-off clash in Christchurch, Carter has added his name to those keen to see an end to the practice. Cooper was jeered largely because of a tiff with Richie McCaw that dates back to 2011.
"It's time everyone moved on," Carter said of the animosity towards Cooper.
The All Black added that he didn't enjoy the booing players of players under any circumstances.
Carter's Crusaders team-mate Israel Dagg expressed similar sentiments in the immediate aftermath of the match, tweeting: "Great win by the boys but please peeps give @QuadeCooper a break!! Disappointed by the boos #moveon."
The incident in Christchurch was certainly not an anomaly, with booing a weekly feature at some venues.
