All Black and Crusaders full-back Israel Dagg has urged New Zealand fans to stop jeering Quade Cooper when he plays in the country.

The Australian playmaker was jeered throughout the Crusaders' play-off clash with the Reds in Christchurch as the fans showed he is still 'Public Enemy No.1' due to his long-standing battle with All Black captain Richie McCaw that began in 2011.

However, Dagg has called for fans to put any ill-feelings they may feel towards Cooper behind them and not show negativity at the stadiums.

"Great win by the boys but please peeps give @QuadeCooper a break!! Disappointed by the boos #moveon," Dagg tweeted.

Cooper had little impact on the match as his side struggled to find any momentum in the face of a rampant Crusaders outfit.
