Crusaders veteran Richie McCaw said his team need to replicate their play-off performance next week, whether it be contested in Pretoria or Hamilton.
McCaw featured for 15 minutes on Saturday as the Christchurch outfit dominated the Reds 38-9, but remained cautious when looking ahead.
"That's the trick of sport," he told The New Zealand Herald when asked if the Crusaders are now confident about their chances of going all the way.
"It's being able to back up a performance like that.
"We have a few players who have had these opportunities before and come up short. The most important thing for us is that we put in our best performance and that comes by preparing as well as we can."
Head coach Todd Blackadder, while happy with the performance, was of a similar mindset as he looks to patch up his troops for their semi-final clash.
"I think we have been building momentum well," said Blackadder.
"I think last week [against the Hurricanes] was a mindset thing because we knew we had qualified and I think a few guys were focusing on this week. Our focus will be on recovering well and preparing well."
