Staying: Ben Tameifuna

The Chiefs have announced that fan favourite Ben Tameifuna has signed a new contract at the franchise, which keeps the prop in Hamilton for 2015.

The 22-year-old, who is strong in the set-piece and carries well, made his debut in 2012 against the Blues and has made 48 games for the side.

"I am a Chief by choice," he told the franchise.

"There is a great amount of support in all aspects of this environment which is important for me to continue to develop both on and off the field."

Chiefs' coach Dave Rennie added: "We are really happy with Tama. He's a powerful man, a destructive tackler with an impressive skillset.

"Ben does an amazing job in our community. He is fantastic with people and we are rapt he's back on board next year."
