Ramage, Have to agree on the Foster appointment.
When I first heard the announcement, my 1st reaction was, Thank god its only for two years!
Wayne Smith is possibly one of the most underestimated Rugby Brains on the planet, and thats not to take anything away from Dave Rennie.

Rennie is naturally being low key in accepting praise but his appointment here plus the addition of Coventry and Smith as his assistants made this a great coaching team. Added to this is the way he attracted some good up and coming talent from the NZ U20 team he coached the Manawatu involvement with Cruden all helped. The resignation of the under performing former coach Foster was also a reason for a change in attitude of the team. Amazing that such an under performer in Foster is promoted to the National Panel. Congratulations Chiefs and their coaches on an amazing season.

excellent coach, excellent game plans this season, excellent ability to analyse the strenghts & weaknesses of opposingn teams. Quiet unassuming bloke who dosent get carried away with himself.
