Hmm - think it might be called North Harbour Stadium (I've been out of Auckland for a few years now!)

@kybone
The only bigger stadiums that I can think of are Eden Park or North Shore Stadium. Both are in Auckland - Eden Park is central Akl, while NSS is (not surprisingly) in the North ... Waikato is South of Akl, so Eden Park would be a 1 1/2 hour drive from Waikato Stadium.. while NSS would be more like 2 1/2 hours.
Not to mention both being home stadiums for the Blues. :-)

Is there not a bigger stadium in the local area? This game could surely have sold this stadium out twice over and then some.

Nice. The region must be psyched having the first final there. Congrats , they surely deserve to host.
Pity the Sharks couldnt get a week to rest , but thats the way the kookie crumbles.
Go RUGBY!! Hope the Sharks take it , as a DIE HARD CHEETHAS fan!!

Two top-ranked kiwi-coached teams going head to head with a kiwi ref in the middle - should be great game!

Would pack out Twickers if they played it there. Not recommending that though.

I note the typical negative comments..... Hamilton and surrounding area has 350,000 people. Durban and surrounding area, 3.5 million.
Gazzabok, could Durban sell out a 250,000 seater stadium in a few hours?
Theshaw, you're just an idiot.
