Veteran lock Victor Matfield will return to the Bulls' starting XV for Friday's clash with the Highlanders in Dunedin.
Matfield's inclusion, at the expense of Paul Willemse, who drops to the replacements bench, is one of four changes to the side that lost to the Hurricanes in Napier last weekend.
The other changes are all in the back-row where Jacques du Plessis and Jono Ross take over from injured flankers Dewald Potgieter and Deon Stegmann while Grant Hattingh is preferred to Jacques Engelbrecht at number eight.
Engelbrecht is also on the bench while Springbok lock Flip van der Merwe will continue as captain.
The only other change to the matchday squad sees William Small-Smith taking over from Ulrich Beyers as one of the back-line replacements.
