The Blues have suffered an injury setback ahead of their must-win clash with the Cheetahs with Piri Weepu and Chris Noakes out injured.
Weepu was still very sore on Monday and Blues doctor Stephen Kara believed it was highly unlikely his injury would settle prior to the game against the Cheetahs this weekend so a decision had to be made.
Wayne Ngaluafe, who debuted for the Blues against France, will fly out early tomorrow morning as a replacement.
Noakes suffered a bruised thigh during his side's defeat at the hands of the Sharks on Saturday and will take no further part in the Blues' tour of South Africa as a result. Baden Kerr, who came on as a replacement for Noakes over the weekend, is likely to wear the number ten jersey against the Cheetahs.
Keven Mealamu (calf) and Peter Saili (haematoma), are also carrying injuries but are expected to turn out the penultimate game of the round robin phase of Super Rugby.
The Blues need to beat the Cheetahs and the Chiefs in their final match if they are to grab a play-off berth.
